Lancaster put together its best offensive performance of the season and Chris Dameron ran through, around and over the Middlesex Chargers for an impressive 272 yards rushing for five touchdowns Monday night when the Red Devils beat MHS, 48-24, in varsity football.
Lancaster gained 428 yards on the ground and threw for another 110 with Tae Veney completing 8-of-11 passes. His primary target was Tahlik Redmond, who caught five passes for 64 yards. BJ Lee caught two for 42 yards. Redmond also gained 115 yards on six rushes and scored on a 92-yard run.
Middlesex opened the scoring on a 3-yard run by quarterback Logan Snyder before Dameron scored the first of his three touchdowns in the first half. He scored on runs of 2, 15, and 62 yards to give Lancaster a 20-17 lead at the half.
Lancaster scored twice in a turnover-laden third quarter that looked a lot like a game of hot potato…
