Red Devils trounce Panthers, 44-0, in varsity football opener

The Lancaster High School Red Devils took a 28-0 lead at the half and never looked back to whip the hosting Charles City Panthers, 44-0, in a varsity football season opener Friday, August 30.

The Devils amassed 359 yards on the ground and had another 25 in the air behind first-year quarterback Porter Pittman.

Pittman completed two passes, including a 19-yard hook up with Brooks Parker in the first quarter to open the scoring.

Pittman led the ball carriers with 13 carries for 139 yards and three touchdowns. He scored on….
