With a focus on improving with each match, the Lancaster High School golf team shaved double digit strokes off its score from a week ago to pick up its second win of the season on Thursday, August 29.
The Red Devils beat West Point, 180-237 at the Golden Eagle Golf Course in Irvington.
“We were 20 strokes better than we were last week,” said LHS coach Rob Pittman. “I’ve stressed if we focus on the short game and focus on knocking off a stroke or two each match, we’ll be right where we want to be.
“We’re also trying to focus on the long term and where we’re trying to get to as a team, and that’s just improve with every match,” he said.
Pittman lost a lot of talent with five of his 2023-24 six starters graduating. That team won….
