Red Devils win two varsity soccer matches

The Lancaster High School varsity soccer team scored 16 goals in a pair of wins over Northumberland last week to improve to 4-5 with four matches remaining in regular season play.

The Red Devils beat the Indians, 8-1, in Heathsville on April 26 then delivered another 8-2 beating at LHS May 1.

“We got ourselves into an early hole but we’re set up now for some success late in the season,” said LHS coach Rob Pittman. “Our defense is coming together. Ewan Scott, at our center back, is really stepping up and Branndonn Wade is getting into his stride.”
