The Northern Neck Chapter of the Military Officers Association held its annual Memorial Day Commemoration at Historic Christ Church in Weems on Monday, May 30, to honor all who sacrificed their lives to protect their country. Daniel Gade, Commissioner of the Virginia Department of Veterans Services, was the speaker at the service. “We who have won the battle can remember that we served so that people can live in peace, including a cookout on their day off. We remember those who gave the ultimate sacrifice in combat on Memorial Day,” he said.
