Renovations continue as back-to-school time nears

Construction workers from Branch Builds on Tuesday, August 1, continued to work on the new entrance for Lancaster Elementary School. Ribbon cutting is scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday, August 18. Lancaster students will return to classes Monday, August 21.

LANCASTER—School superintendent Jessica Davis on Thursday, July 27, presented county supervisors an update on the Lancaster Elementary School renovation project in Kilmarnock.

According to Davis, the school’s renovation is working around the theme of “The Chesapeake Bay and its tributaries.”

On the outside, construction crews are pouring the steps and glazing the windows. Inside, there will be several layout changes in the conversion from middle to elementary school, including….
