Repeat medalists Smith, Harding pace Red Devils

Lancaster’s Hailey Smith and De’Avion Harding continue to pace runners throughout the region as the individual medalists in a five-team cross country meet at West Point last week.

Smith led 45 varsity and junior varsity harriers in the girls meet and beat runner-up Sara Baker of Middlesex by a minute on the 3.1-mile course. Smith ran a 20:38 race to lead 31 varsity runners. Baker finished the race in 21:38.

West Point, which had all five scorers finish among the top 10, won the meet with a low score of 27. Lancaster was second….
