At a recent meeting of the Northumberland County Republican Committee, chairman Marion Cockrell presented the Explorers a check for $1,000.
The Explorers is a mentoring program sponsored by the Northumberland County Sheriff’s Office at Northumberland High School for youths ages 14-20 considering a career option in law enforcement, reported Robert L. Jackson.
This donation was the result of the unanimous vote by the committee membership to financially support this program.
Explorers Martin Pinion, Northumberland County Sheriff’s Office detective Caleb Smith and Deputy Sheriff Jesse Lee accepted the donation on behalf of the Explorers.
