IRVINGTON—Rev. Dr. William S. Pregnall died at his home in Irvington on March 15, 2019. Born in Charleston, S.C., in 1931, he is survived by his wife of 66 years, Joye Pregnall; son, Stuart of Annandale; daughter, Gabrielle Johnson of Guilford, Conn.; and six grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his son, Marshall, in 2016.
Following graduation in 1952 from UNC Chapel Hill, he served in the Navy for three years as a line officer aboard the USS Rodman (DMS 21). He attended the Virginia Theological Seminary, Alexandria, and was ordained deacon (1958) and priest (1959). After serving the Episcopal Church in several capacities he retired in 1993. He moved to Irvington in 2006.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on April 13 at Grace Episcopal Church in Kilmarnock. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations made to the Middlesex Free Medical Clinic or the Employee Christmas Fund at Rappahannock Westminster-Canterbury.
