Richard Wade Hall

HEATHSVILLE—Richard Wade Hall, 52, of Heathsville died Saturday, January 6, 2024.

He was born on June 13, 1971 to Richard Fred “Dickie” Hall and the late Madeline Bush Hall. Raised in the Remo area, he developed a love of working on the water, and he became a waterman for life.

Wade is survived by his father; his daughter, Rylee Anne Hall and her mother, Laurienne Jackson. He is also survived by his aunts, Anne Haynie and Mary Frances Hughes; as well as many cousins.

He was preceded in death by his mother, his aunt, Shirley Bush; and uncles, Eugene and Randolph Bush.

Wade served four years in the Army, and spent time stationed in Germany during and after the Gulf War. Being a great cook, he was head chef for the general he served under on the base. Once he finished his service, he studied business administration at VCU, earning his master’s.

After college, Wade returned to the Northern Neck and began working on the water. He started his own business, Hall Seafood, in which he supplied crabs and oysters to many in the lower Northern Neck.

Wade was a member of Mila Methodist Church. He loved helping people in the community, and always steamed crabs and made oyster stew for the church’s annual crab feast fundraiser, who gave their funds to those in need.

The family received friends from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, January 10, at the funeral home. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. on Thursday, January 11.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Mila Methodist Church.
