Robert H. “Crow” Thrift

BURGESS—Robert H. “Crow” Thrift of Burgess passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 9, 2024.

He was born on January 12, 1947, to Robert J. and Margaret C. Thrift and lived his life in the Northern Neck.

He was predeceased by his parents and a brother, Joey Thrift.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Rosemary Robertson Thrift; two sons, Troy of Baltimore, Md., and Robbie of Burgess; three grandchildren, Laurel, Matt and Tripp; a great-grandchild, Jackson; and his faithful furry companion, Lucy.

Bobby worked as a brick mason contractor for 50 years and was a lifetime member of the Fairfield’s Volunteer Fire Department and a lifetime member of the Hacks Neck Hunt Club. As an avid fan of car racing, he participated in local races as a driver. He loved fast boats and fishing and was a master at planting, tending and harvesting his vegetable garden.

A memorial service will be held from 1-3 p.m. Saturday, May 4, at the Buzzard Point, Fairport. We would like to thank Dr. Bessler and his staff (Erin) and Hospice of Virginia (Julia and Brenda).
