Robert “Preston” Nuttall

HEATHSVILLE—Robert “Preston” Nuttall, 83, of Heathsville went to be with the Lord on July 26, 2023.

He was born in Richmond and spent many years living between Chesterfield and Northumberland. Preston was a Godly man who believed in putting his family first and gave 100% towards everything he did. He had a passion for spending time with his family and friends, playing tennis, working on home improvement projects and gardening.

Some of his greatest joys were traveling with his wife, Pat, researching and writing historical novels and hanging out with his friends from the Manchester Gang. While relaxing at home, he always enjoyed eating vanilla ice cream and watching Gunsmoke or Horatio Hornblower.

Preston is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Pat Nuttall; his daughter, Kimberly Gillikin (Buddy); his son, James Nuttall (Cheryl); his son, Scott Steinruck (Beth); and his son, Doug Steinruck; along with eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

In his professional life, Preston had a successful career in finance where he not only did a tremendous job managing accounts, but also formed lasting relationships with colleagues and clients who have become longtime friends.

Preston came to know the Lord at Fairport Baptist Church and truly loved his church family.

A visitation was held from 1-2 p.m. Sunday, July 30, at Fairport Baptist Church followed by a Celebration of Life service at 2 p.m. A graveside service was held Monday, July 31, at Central Baptist Church in Chesterfield.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Fairport Baptist Church in Reedville, or Riverside Home Health and Hospice Services of Warsaw.

Preston will be dearly missed by his family, friends and all those who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Currie Funeral Home LLC of Kilmarnock handled the arrangements.
