
ALFONSO—Ronald Dwight Forrester, a devoted steward of the land and beloved husband, father and paw paw passed away on March 3, 2026, at his home in Alfonso, surrounded by family.
Born on January 25, 1953, to Grafton and Charlotte Byrd Forrester, he spent his life farming, a passion that began in his youth. Known for his unwavering work ethic, he believed in straight rows, honest work and taking care of the land that took care of his family. He loved his grandkids, hunting, fishing and John Deere tractors.
Ronnie is survived by his wife of 50 years, Sue; children, Dwight and Amy Forrester, Charlotte and Aleksey Mironov and Chad Forrester; grandchildren, Grafton and Sara Forrester; Anton, Alina and Sully Mironov; brother, Gene (Mary Francis) Forrester; and sister, Cindy (Michael) Stock; nieces and nephews, Anne (Jim ) Muse, Jim (Beth) Forrester, Noel Stock; and friends and neighbors who were like family.
Visitation for friends and family was held from 5–7 p.m. on Friday, March 6, at Currie Funeral Home in Kilmarnock. Services were held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 7, at Lebanon Baptist Church in Alfonso.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Upper Lancaster Volunteer Fire Department or Northumberland-Lancaster Virginia Farm Bureau Scholarship Fund.
