The Rappahannock River Yacht Club on Carter Creek in Irvington already with a Luau planned for their August 19 club dinner, rallied members and guests to bring their checkbooks and to donate to the American Red Cross for the benefit of Maui fire victims.
Co-hosts rear commodore John and Tammy-Jo Arsenault helped provide a balance, where all enjoyed a meal together, that laughter prevailed among those comparing colorful, often zany Hawaiian garb, all while diners offered checks to help others in need, reported Tom Wicks.
