RICHMOND—Sally Brock White died Saturday, April 20, 2024.
Sally was born the second of February 1939 in Norfolk. She was the daughter of Dr. Macon Foscue Brock and Claire Pritchard Brock, sister of Patricia Brock Robertson and Macon F. Brock III who predeceased her.
Sally’s surviving family is husband Harold N. White, children Harold (Sandy) N. White Jr., Kathy Lowe, Laura and Eric Hewitt, and grandchildren Nicole Lowe and Kelly Dolan, Alex Lowe, Luke White, Paul and Morgan Hewitt.
Mrs. White graduated from Granby High School in 1957, and from Mary Washington University in 1961. Sally taught grade school in Virgilina, St. Albans, W.Va., and Stratford Landing Elementary and Woodlawn Elementary School in Alexandria. She retired from teaching in 1999 from Fairfax County school systems.
At the time, Sally and husband Hal moved to their new home on the waterfront of Wicomico Church. She became an active volunteer for Hospice Support Services, where she dedicated 17 years as volunteer coordinator for Northumberland County. Mrs. White was an avid goer to her Kilmarnock YMCA, working out and taking various aerobic classes.
Her memorial service will be Saturday, May 11, at Saint Matthias Episcopal Church, Midlothian, VA, 23113. Services will begin at 11 a.m.
