WHITE STONE—Vicki White (née Vivian M. Griffith), 82, of White Stone was born in Washington, D.C., and lived most of her life in Northern Virginia. She graduated from George Washington High School and married her high school sweetheart turned lifelong husband, Jerry. They had two children together, Terri and Philip.
Vicki worked for the Department of the Army for over 30 years before retiring to White Stone in 2001 for she and Jerry to be closer to their grandchildren, Tiffany and Brittany. Vicki dearly loved her grandchildren and always had time for them. She went to many field hockey and soccer games, dance team performances, bake sales, parades, birthday parties and graduations. She loved her family and often brought everyone together at incredible gatherings through the years for holidays and for no reason at all.
Vicki was loved and admired by everyone who knew her and she knew a lot of people. She was a three-time breast cancer survivor and lived her life to the fullest. She found joy in volunteering at Rappahannock General Hospital for many years and then at the hospital thrift shop, Seconds Unlimited. She loved competing in the duck pin bowling league in Kilmarnock. She also belonged to the White Stone Woman’s Club. Vicki’s love of cooking and baking was enjoyed by everyone who knew her. She always had baked goodies, which she shared with all of her family and friends.
Vicki was predeceased by her husband, Jerry; her father, Harry; mother, Merle (Sam); sisters, Betti (Russel) and Carolyn; and brother, Pat (Joan). She is survived by her daughter, Terri (Eric); son, Philip (Julie); grandchildren, Stephen, Tiffany and Brittany; uncle, Jesse; and many cousins, nieces and nephews who loved her so.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the American Cancer Society, the Kilmarnock Volunteer Rescue Squad, The Woman’s Club of White Stone, or Second’s Unlimited.
