
The 40th annual Rappahannock River Waterfowl Show will be held March 16-17, at the White Stone Firehouse, 579 Chesapeake Drive, White Stone. Show hours are 10 a.m.-5 p.m. March 16 and 10 a.m.-4 p.m. March 17. Admission is $8 and is good for both days, children younger than 12 are free.
Artists, carvers, sculptors and photographers from eight states will present a variety of wildfowl-related art, reported coordinator Pat Bruce.
Those attending the show will have a chance to win a hand-carved decoy by White Stone resident Chris Sampson. This is Sampson’s second year as an exhibitor, said Bruce.
Sampson grew up in White Stone and spent many hours roaming the woods, streams and creeks nearby. He learned a love of waterfowl from the extensive aviary of his grandfather, Lewis Shelton, Bruce said. It is from his grandfather that…
