SAR speaker to discuss Menokin restoration

Sam McKelvey, who has over five years of museum experience with the Henrico County Historic and Preservation section, will discuss “Menokin: the Restoration,” when the Richard Henry Lee chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution meets at Rappahannock-Westminster Canterbury, 132 Lancaster Drive, Irvington, Monday, November 20, at 11:30 a.m.

McElvey’s experience should be invaluable as he tackles researching, planning and restoration of Menokin, once the home of Francis Lightfoot Lee and his wife, Rebecca Tayloe Lee.

Menokin is in Richmond County, just outside Warsaw. Located on a thousand acre farm, it was a wedding gift to Rebecca and her husband from her father.
