Weaving their story in a series of toe-tapping musical numbers, Chesapeake Academy second-grade students held their audience in rapt attention as they presented the short dramatic play “Halloween Misfits.”
In a charming holiday tale, Helga, the witch, played by Madison Howell, plans a big party on Halloween night. All of the Halloween creatures are invited except for the “misfits,” reported head of school Julianne T. Duvall.
The misfits include a witch who cannot fly, Chelsea McMahon, a ghost who cannot boo, Ethan Wills, a monster who cannot stomp, Nathan Rafael, a pumpkin with issues turning his head, Lucas Clair, and a skeleton who simply cannot rattle, Richard Beane.
