Set crew is transforming stage for mystery-comedy

Grace Emminizer-Davis puts the finishing touches on California Mission-style panels for the set of “What Is  ‘Murder’?” The mystery-comedy will open June 6 at The Lancaster Playhouse.

Turning the Lancaster Players stage from a renovated French farmhouse into a stylish Los Angeles Airbnb is no small feat.

“Thanks to the dedication of a talented team of set decorators, painters and carpenters, the transformation is well underway,” said president Luke Rawls. “Our team of volunteer craftsmen is working together to bring the ambiance of sunny California for “What Is ‘Murder’?”, a mystery-comedy by Ken Levine.

Performances are scheduled at The Lancaster Playhouse, 361 Chesapeake Drive, White Stone, at 8 p.m. June 6, 7, 13, 14, 20 and 21; and 3 p.m. June 8, 15 and 22. The Playhouse will open one hour prior to….
