WEEMS—Sharon Kay Pelkey, 62, of Weems passed away at her home on March 5, 2024.
She was born in Oklahoma on December 18, 1961, to James and Aileen Carter Childers. With her father in the military, Sharon experienced growing up in different places like Oklahoma, Chicago, Illinois and Northern Virginia before coming to settle in the Northern Neck.
Sharon worked as an insurance adjuster for many years before moving to the Northern Neck where she found the love of her life, Rick Rose. Her love of country living and her love of animals was clearly shown as she enjoyed taking care of their home and creating their own “little farm” in Weems.
Sharon enjoyed painting, crafting, and gardening, along with taking care of her home, Rick and her beloved animals.
Sharon was preceded in death by her father; and her brother, James.
She is survived by Richard “Rick” Rose III; her mother; her daughter; and a sister and brother-in-law.
Currie Funeral Home LLC of Kilmarnock handled the arrangements.
