Bob and Jena Smart of Mollusk announce the engagement of their daughter, Tamara A. Smart, to W. L. “Lee” Duncan III.
Mr. Duncan is the son of Ms. Vicky Adams of Smithfield and Mr. W. L. Duncan Jr. of Bend, Ore.
Ms. Smart is a graduate of Queens College of New York and the VCU Dietetic Intern Program.
Mr. Duncan is a graduate of Gallaudet University and the College of William and Mary.
Both Ms. Smart and Mr. Duncan are on a journey sailing around the world. This past August, they left their boat in New Zealand and flew back to Virginia where Mr. Duncan proposed to Ms. Smart on Proposal Point, the same spot where Ms. Smart’s dad proposed to her mom 50 years ago.
They are now continuing their circumnavigational journey, but will be back for a spring 2025 wedding.
