Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie this week reported misdemeanor charges against two individuals.
A Newport News woman, 24, was charged February 9 with failure to appear in court on a traffic offense.
A Lancaster man, 50, was charged February 12 with driving while intoxicated with a blood alcohol level of over .20%, reckless driving by speed in existing conditions and reckless driving—failure to maintain proper control.

February 6: Staff responded to the 400 block of Wilson Lane for a verbal dispute involving alcohol, to Baywalk Drive for suspicious activity, to the 10500 block of Mary Ball Road for a reckless driver, and to the 700 block of Ottoman Ferry Road to check the welfare of a resident.
February 7: Staff responded to the 8800 block of Mary Ball Road for a fight in progress, and to the 8200 block of Mary Ball Road for an abandoned vehicle.
February 8: Staff responded to the 600 block of North Main Street to assist Kilmarnock Police Department (KPD) with suspicious activity, to the 2600 block of Little Bay Road for the destruction of property resulting from a traffic crash, to the 200 block of Old Fairgrounds Way to assist KPD with a panhandler, to the 200 block of Methodist Church Road for a wanted person, and to the 200 block of Cottage Lane for a trespasser.
February 9: Staff responded to the 100 block of Carlee Road to assist Middlesex Sheriff’s Office with a possible stolen vehicle and a weapons violation, to the 100 block of Doggett Lane for trespassing and destruction of property.
February 10: Staff responded to the 4200 block of Irvington Road for a hit and run traffic crash, to the 3000 block of Merry Point Road for a sudden death, to the 8800 block of Mary Ball Road for a juvenile behavior issue, to the 200 block of Old Fairgrounds Way to assist KPD with a shoplifter, and to the 400 block of Twin Branch Road for gunshots at a large gathering and a fight in progress.
February 11: Staff responded to the 100 block of Washington Street for a domestic disturbance involving a knife, to the 11500 block of Mary Ball Road for a suspicious vehicle, to the 400 block of Twin Branch Road for a disorderly crowd at a large gathering, to River and White Chapel roads for a young juvenile walking in a wooded area and the subject of parental neglect, to the 200 block of Beach Road for a missing adult female, to North Main Street for a possible intoxicated driver, and to the 100 block of Turner Lane for trespassers.
February 12: Staff responded to the 500 block of Chesapeake Drive for suspicious activity, to the 100 block of Howards Lane for a domestic assault involving alcohol, to the Robert O. Norris Jr. Memorial Bridge for debris in the roadway causing a traffic hazard, to Mary Ball Road and Avis Trail for a single-vehicle traffic crash involving alcohol.
Staff also conducted 43 traffic stops, issued 33 summonses, assisted six motorists, recorded a deer strike accident, handled 11 calls for traffic control, investigated two building alarms, logged three inmate transports, received 19 E911 hang up calls, and fielded a call for animal control service.
Fire calls
Kilmarnock Volunteer Fire Department responded to an illegal controlled burn on Cherry Hill Road; a traffic crash on Mt. Olive Road, and a fuel spill at Irvington Road and School Street.
Upper Lancaster VFD responded to a controlled burn at Mary Ball and Field Trial roads.
