Sheriffs Report 02-27-20

Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie this week reported misdemeanor charges against three individuals.

A Lancaster woman, 26, was charged February 17 with shoplifting.

A Lancaster man, 22, was charged February 19 with contempt of court, failure to appear.

A Kilmarnock man, 30, was charged February 21 with an alcohol safety program violation.

Activity report

February 17: Staff responded to a walk-in report of a domestic assault, to the 400 block of Gaskins Road for vandalism; to a walk-in report of vandalism of a vehicle that occurred at the 100 block of Joyful Way, and to the intersection of Lancaster Creek and Shore Drive for reckless drivers.

February 18: Staff responded to the 200 block of Enon Hall Road to check the welfare of a resident after receiving a report from a friend, to the 8800 block of Mary Ball Road for a fight in progress, to the 100 block of Joyful Way for a burglary, and to the 700 block of Taylors Creek Road to assist emergency medical services (EMS) with a combative patient.

February 19: Staff responded to the Robert O. Norris Jr. Memorial Bridge for debris in the roadway causing a traffic hazard, and to the 100 block of Rose Lane for a juvenile behavior issue.

February 20: Staff responded to Belmont Drive and River Road for a suspicious person, to the 500 block of Lara Road for a domestic assault, and to Harris Road for a single-vehicle traffic crash.

February 21: Staff responded to the Norris Bridge for a disabled vehicle, and to the 1400 block of Weems Road for an unattended death.

February 22: Staff responded to the 800 block of Nuttsville Road for a domestic disturbance, to the 100 block of Whisk Drive for a missing person, to the 700 block of Crawfords Corner Road for a possible suicidal person, to the 4900 block of Irvington Road for gunshots in the area, and to Ocran Road for a suspicious person.

February 23: Staff responded to a walk-in report of an assault that occurred in Kilmarnock, and to the 4800 block of Mary Ball Road for a domestic disturbance and gunshots in the area.

Staff also conducted 31 traffic stops, issued 19 summonses, assisted seven motorists, handled five calls for traffic control, investigated seven building alarms, logged two inmate transports, received nine E911 hang-up calls, and fielded four calls for animal control service.

Fire calls

Kilmarnock Volunteer Fire Department responded to an electrical fire on Fawn Knoll Lane, a traffic crash on Harris Road, a wash down on Waverly Avenue and with White Stone VFD to a structure fire on Pembroke Lane.

Upper Lancaster VFD responded to a vehicle fire on Thomas Landing Road.

EMS calls

For February 16-22, the Kilmarnock-Lancaster Volunteer Rescue Squad, Upper Lancaster Volunteer Rescue Squad and Lancaster County Emergency Services responded to 29 calls, including 21 medical emergencies, three injuries, a traffic accident, a fire and three other calls.

Northumberland County Sheriff Johnny Beauchamp this week reported charges against 21 individuals.

Felonies

Mikayla Dawn Meadows, 21, of Reedville was charged February 4 on a direct indictment issued by the Northumberland County Multi-Jurisdictional Grand Jury for distribution of a Schedule I or II drug and for selling/distributing over one-half ounce of marijuana.

Melissa May Price, 34, of Farnham was charged February 8 on a direct indictment issued from the Northumberland County Multi-Jurisdictional Grand Jury for entering a structure to commit assault and battery.

Heidlynn Marie Hairfield, 31, of Woodford was charged February 8 with possession of a Schedule I or II drug.

Brennan Jessie King, 22, of Warsaw was charged February 12 on a direct indictment issued from the Northumberland County Multi-Jurisdictional Grand Jury for distribution of a Schedule I or II drug.

Misdemeanors

A Callao woman, 36, was charged February 3 with criminal trespassing after being forbidden to do so.

A Chesapeake man, 30, was charged February 4 on a capias/attachment of the body issued from the Northumberland County General District Court for failing to appear. This was served by the Suffolk Police Department.

A Callao woman, 53, was charged February 6 with assault and battery of a family member.

A Reedville man, 20, was charged February 9 with a summons for aggressive driving.

A Reedville man, 64, was charged February 9 with criminal trespassing.

A Tappahannock man, 58, was charged February 11 with driving under the influence and reckless driving. He was also charged on two summonses for refusal of the breath test and driving with an open container.

A Lottsburg man, no age given, was charged February 13 with a hit and run.

A Heathsville man, 54, was charged February 13 with violating a protective order.

A Callao woman, 36, was charged February 13 with two counts of pointing/brandishing a firearm.

A Heathsville man, 28, was charged February 13 with a capias/attachment of the body issued by the Lancaster County General District Court for failing to appear. This was served by the Northumberland County Sheriff’s Office (NCSO).

A Heathsville man, 54, was charged February 14 with violating a protective order.

A Heathsville woman, 56, was charged February 16 with assault and battery. This was a Lancaster County warrant served by NCSO.

A Callao man, 25, was charged February 18 with embezzlement. This warrant was issued by the Warsaw police department and served by NCSO.

A Heathsville man, 56, was charged February 18 with five summonses, each for failing to purchase/or pay for tags and failing to vaccinate his animals. He was charged with three summonses for failing to provide adequate water.

A Heathsville man, 25, was charged February 19 with harassment by computer. This was a Richmond County warrant served by NCSO.

A Heathsville woman, 27, was charged February 19 with harassment by computer. This was a Richmond County warrant served by NCSO.

A Callao man, 36, was charged February 22 with assault and battery of a family member.
