Sheriff’s Report 04-08-21

Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie this week reported charges against four individuals.

Felonies

Dasmine Durrell Fisher, 29, of Weems was charged March 30 with possession/transport of a firearm after having been convicted of a felony.

Mary Beth Bowie, 36, of Petersburg was charged April 3 with three counts of assaulting a law enforcement officer.

Misdemeanors

A Lancaster man, 36, was charged March 30 with assaulting a family member.

A Petersburg man, 27, was charged April 4 with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol.

Activity report

March 29: Staff responded to the 500 block of Moran Creek Road for a downed powerline in the roadway, to the 300 block of Old Orchard Road for a missing person, and to the 100 block of Oak Leaf to assist emergency medical services (EMS) with an intoxicated patient.

March 30: Staff responded to a walk-in report of stalking, to the 4500 block of Windmill Point Road for a motorcyclist driving recklessly, and to the 300 block of Fleets Bay Road for a residential robbery with injuries.

March 31: Staff responded to Mary Ball and Field Trial roads for a single-vehicle traffic crash, to the 100 block of River Bluff Road to check the welfare of a resident, to the 400 block of Lancaster Creek Drive for a domestic disturbance, and to the 1700 block of Weems Road for a paving worker with life-threatening injuries from being struck by a company truck.

April 1: Staff responded to the 12900 block of River Road for a trespasser, to the 300 block of South Main Street to assist Kilmarnock Police Department (KPD) with a single-vehicle traffic crash, to the 9200 block of Mary Ball Road for a juvenile behavioral issue, to the Robert O. Norris Jr. Memorial Bridge for debris in the roadway causing a traffic hazard, and to the 100 block of Wesley Terrace for a domestic disturbance.

April 2: Staff responded to the 400 block of North Main Street for the report of a stolen Ruger .380 caliber semi-auto handgun, to the 100 block of Roseneath Avenue to assist KPD with a sudden death, to Mary Ball and Pinckardsville roads for a two-vehicle traffic crash, and to the 200 block of Morattico Church Road for a person with violent mental issues.

April 3: Staff responded to the 100 block of Twin Branch Road for a child custody disagreement, and to James Wharf Road for an abandoned motorcycle.

April 4: Staff responded to the 4500 block of Windmill Point Road for a motorcyclist driving recklessly, to the 100 block of Twin Branch Road to assist EMS with a possible overdose of narcotics, to the 100 block of Crystal Lane for a domestic disturbance involving alcohol, and to the 100 block of Hatton Avenue to assist KPD with a domestic disturbance involving a firearm.

Staff also conducted 15 traffic stops, issued five summonses, assisted two motorists, recorded a deer strike accident, handled seven calls for traffic control, investigated two building alarms, received 20 E911 hang-up calls, and fielded four calls for animal control service.

Fire calls

The White Stone Volunteer Fire Department assisted EMS with a landing zone on Weems Road, and responded with Kilmarnock VFD to separate chimney fires on Jarvis Point Road and Chases Cove Lane.

Kilmarnock VFD also responded to a brush fire on Devils Bottom Road and a mulch fire at Irvington Road and Middle Gate.

Upper Lancaster VFD responded to a lawn mower fire on River Road.
