Sheriff’s Report 06-23-22

Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie this week reported charges against four individuals.

Felonies

Oriel Purchell Lee, 33, of Lancaster was charged June 14 with failure to appear in court on a felony offense.

Larry Warner Hearn Jr., 33, of Weems was charged June 14 with seven counts of failure to appear in court on a felony offense, revocation of pretrial release-felony offense, receiving/buying stolen goods valued at over $1,000, and selling stolen property valued at over $1,000.

Shakeen Donta Walker, 27, of Weems was charged June 17 with burglary: entering a home to commit larceny, selling stolen property valued at over $1,000, and grand larceny.

Misdemeanor

A White Stone man, 62, was charged June 19 with driving while intoxicated and speeding 57 in a 45 zone.

Activity report

June 13: Staff responded to Lara and Miskimon roads for a tree down in the roadway, to the 100 block of Swamp Lane for shots fired into an occupied dwelling and vandalism of a vehicle, to the 300 block of Harpers Creek Drive for an abandoned vehicle, to the 8200 block of Mary Ball Road for a disorderly person, to the 11000 block of River Road for a bicyclist who was injured from a fall, to the 200 block of Johns Neck Road for suspicious activity, to the 100 block of North Main Street for suspicious activity, and to the 400 block of Gaskins Road for larceny of jewelry.

June 14: Staff responded to the 2500 block of Merry Point Road for a wanted person, to the 600 block of Rappahannock Drive for a suspicious person, and to the 600 block of North Main Street for a wanted person.

June 15: Staff responded to the 9000 block of River Road for a domestic assault, to the 400 block of North Main Street to assist Kilmarnock Police Department (KPD) with a person with an altered mental status, to Morattico and Nuttsville roads for debris in the roadway causing a traffic hazard, to the 700 block of Bay Water Drive for a boater in distress, and to the 4700 block of Mary Ball Road to check the welfare of a resident.

June 16: Staff responded to the 300 block of North Main Street to assist KPD with a suspicious person, to the 100 block of Morattico Road to assist Social Services with a child welfare check, to a walk-in report of threats to harm another by displaying a knife that occurred at the 500 block of North Main Street, and to the White Stone area on Mary Ball Road for a reckless driver.

June 17: Staff responded to the 800 block of Rappahannock Drive for a suspicious person, to Belle Isle State Park for suspicious activity involving alcohol, to Windmill Point Road and Tyler Lane for a tree down in the roadway, to the 1500 block of Beanes Road for a verbal disagreement, to the 200 block of Regina Road for illegal dumping, and to the 100 block of School Street for a hit and run that occurred on the Robert O. Norris Jr. Memorial Bridge.

June 18: Staff responded to the 200 block of Red Fox Lane for suspicious activity, and to the 100 block of Ice House Drive for notification of a sudden death that occurred in Maryland.

June 19: Staff responded to a walk-in report of a child custody dispute, to the 500 block of Lara Road for trespassers, to the 100 block of Colinbrook Way for gunshots in the area, and to the 500 block of Devils Bottom Road for gunshots near a residence.

Staff also conducted 20 traffic stops, issued 16 summonses, recorded two deer strike accidents, investigated six building alarms, transported three inmates and received 20 E911 hang up calls.

Fire calls

The White Stone Volunteer Fire Department responded to a trash fire/controlled burn o Kellum Drive, a fire/smoke alarm on Windmill Point Road, and with Kilmarnock VFD to a structure fire on Jessie duPont Memorial Highway.
