Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie this week reported charges against three individuals.
Felonies
Jalin Nathaniel Powell, 23, of Lancaster was charged June 24 with assault and battery of a law enforcement officer while knowing or having reason to believe that such person was a law enforcement officer, and obstructing justice; resisting arrest (misdemeanor).
Imauri Elijah Smith, 20, of Lancaster was charged June 30 with attempted murder; use, attempt to use, or display in a threatening manner a firearm while committing or attempting to commit murder; recklessly handled a firearm so as to endanger life, limb or property; abuse or neglect of a child, and destruction of property (misdemeanor).
Misdemeanor
A Lancaster man, 52, was charged June 29 with three counts of assault and battery.

June 26: Staff responded to the 600 block of Rappahannock Drive for a suspicious vehicle, to James Wharf Road for a suspicious person, to Lumberlost and Christ Church roads for a two-vehicle traffic crash, and to Old Airport Road for a downed tree.
June 27: Staff responded to the 2000 block of Merry Point Road for a downed tree, to the 10000 block of Mary Ball Road for an abandoned vehicle, to Weems and Lumberlost roads for a two-vehicle traffic crash, to Brent Court for a domestic disturbance, to the 80 block of Jones Drive for a civil complaint, and to the 200 block of Lancaster Creek Drive for a noise complaint.
June 28: Staff responded to the Norris Bridge for debris in the highway, to the 20 block of Pintail Lane for an adult welfare check, to the 1600 block of Old Salem Road for a single-vehicle traffic crash, to the 200 block of Beach Road for an adult welfare check, to the 300 block of Twin Branch Road for a fight in progress, and to the 100 block of Twin Branch Road for gunshots in the late evening hours.
June 29: Staff responded to the 100 block of First Street for a verbal dispute, to the 3000 block of White Chapel Road for a domestic assault, to the 3000 block of Irvington Road for an adult welfare check, to the 200 block of Mosquito Point Road for a verbal disagreement, to the 1300 block of Pinckardsville Road for legal advice, to the 100 block of Beach Road for an abandoned vehicle, to the 50 block of Chases Road for a domestic disturbance, and to the 200 block of Burnt Wharf Road for a noise complaint.
June 30: Staff responded to the 20 block of Thrasher Court for a drive-by shooting, to the Norris Bridge for a reckless driver, to the 500 block of Sullivans Road for the report of gunshots in the late evening hours, and to the 30 block of Evergreen Drive for a suspicious person.
Staff also conducted 26 traffic stops, issued 22 summonses, recorded two deer strike accidents, handled a request for traffic control, investigated five building alarms, logged four inmate transports, received nine E911 hang up calls, and fielded a call for animal control service.
Fire Calls
White Stone Volunteer Fire Department responded to separate fire alarms at 25 Tom Morris Drive and 448 Windjammer Lane, and separate traffic crashes at Lumberlost and Christchurch roads, and Lumberlost and Weems roads.
Upper Lancaster VFD responded to a transformer fire at 191 Mantua Road and to a utility line fire at 16 Old Orchard Lane.
Kilmarnock VFD responded to a smell of smoke at 101 Harris Road.
