Sheriff’s Report 09-30-21

Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie this week reported charges against five individuals.

Felony

Da’Mario Marcuas Rivers, 24, of Henrico was charged September 21 with damage to property valued at over $1,000, damage to property valued at under $1,000, and assault and battery of a family member.

Misdemeanors

A Lancaster woman, 24, was charged September 23 with assault and battery of a family member, and damage to property valued at under $1,000.

A White Stone woman, 34, was charged September 24 with entering or remaining on church or school property after having been directed to vacate the property by a person authorized to give such direction, assault, disorderly conduct, and curse and abuse.

A Deltaville man, 21, was charged September 25 with driving while intoxicated first offense, BAC .15-.20%, and failure to obey a lawfully erected traffic control device.

Activity report

Sept. 20: Staff responded to the 100 block of Shalem Place for the report of suspicious activity; responded to the 400 block of Russell Lane for the report of possible elderly abuse; responded to the area of Field Trial Road for the report of an abandoned stolen vehicle; responded to the 1400 block of Windmill Point Road for the report of gunshots in the early evening hours; responded to the 200 block of East Church Street to assist KPD with the report of a domestic disturbance involving several people.

Sept. 21: Staff responded to the 100 block of South Main Street to assist with a wanted person, to the 8800 block of Mary Ball Road for a sexual assault involving juveniles, to the 3200 block of Irvington Road for trespassing, and to the 300 block of Carlson Road for a domestic assault with injuries.

Sept. 22: Staff responded to the 200 block Skye Drive for a suspicious activity, to the 9000 block of Mary Ball Road for a sexual assault, to the 100 block of Ice House Drive to assist emergency medical services with a patient with an altered mental status, to the 400 block of North Main Street to assist Kilmarnock Police Department with a large crowd, and to the 1300 block of Coxs Farm Road for threats made to harm another.

Sept. 23: Staff responded to River and Mary Ball roads for a single-vehicle traffic crash with injuries, to the 200 block of Skye Drive to check the welfare of a resident, to the 11400 block of Courthouse Road for a downed tree in the roadway, to the 300 block of Atkins Lane to check the welfare of a resident, to the 2900 block of Lara Road for a domestic assault, and the 6000 block of Mary Ball Road for a suspicious vehicle.

Sept. 24: Staff responded to the 1000 block of Beanes Road to assist the Northumberland County Sheriff’s Office with the service of a criminal warrant, to the 200 block of Skye Drive to check the welfare of a resident, to the 3900 block of Black Stump Road for a sudden death, to the 100 block of Sandlin Drive for an assault, to the 1400 block of Windmill Point Road for a civil issue involving rental property, and to Mary Ball and Merry Point Roads to assist Virginia State Police with the arrest of a combative person.

Sept. 25: Staff responded to the 500 block of Chesapeake Drive for property damage from an intoxicated driver, to the 1400 block of Avis Trail to assist with recovery of personal property, and to the 9200 block of River Road to check the welfare of a resident.

Sept. 26: Staff responded to the 100 block of Swamp Lane for a possible assault, to a walk-in report of a domestic assault and damage to property that occurred at the 300 block of Gaskins Road, to the 1000 block of Griffins Landing Road for a suicidal person, to King Carter Drive and Irvington Road for a suspicious person, and to the 100 block of Clark Road for the report missing elderly person.

Staff also conducted six traffic stops, issued two summonses, assisted two motorists, recorded two deer strike accidents, handled eight calls for traffic control, investigated eight building alarms, logged an inmate transport, received 20 E911 hang-up calls and fielded a request for animal control service.

Fire calls

Kilmarnock Volunteer Fire Department responded to a brush fire on Waddeys Road, a fuel spill on North Main Street and with Upper Lancaster VFD to a traffic crash at Mary Ball and River roads.

White Stone VFD responded to a brush fire on Little Oyster Lane and a carbon monoxide alarm on Old Oak Trail.
