Sheriff’s Report 10-10-24

Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie this week reported misdemeanor charges against five individuals.

A White Stone man, 24, was charged September 30 with assault and battery of a family member.

A Kilmarnock woman, 21, was charged October 2 with failure to report for compliance with random drug screening, and failure to appear in court for trial on October 2.

A White Stone woman, 74, was charged October 2 with trespassing.

A Kilmarnock man, 47, was charged October 3 with noncompliance with the Virginia Alcohol and Safety Program and their requirements for the underlying charge of driving while under the influence, first offense.

A Reedville woman, 23, was charged October 7 with driving a motor vehicle while intoxicated, obstructing justice, resisting arrest, and assault and battery of a family or household member.

Activity report

September 30: Staff responded to the Robert O. Norris Jr. Memorial Bridge for the a suspicious person, to Old Salem and Methodist Church roads for livestock in the highway, and to the 18000 block of Mary Ball Road for a domestic assault.

October 1: Staff responded to Old Orchard Drive for a disabled vehicle, to the 1200 block of Belmont Drive for an adult suffering from a mental illness, to Twin Branch Road for a disabled vehicle, to the 100 block of River Bluff Road for an adult welfare check, and to the 200 block of Black Stump Road for a verbal dispute.

October 2: Staff responded to the 700 block of Millenbeck Road for an adult welfare check, to the 60 block of Cove Creek Court for an adult welfare check, to Remo Road and Jessie duPont Memorial Highway to assist Northumberland County Sheriff’s Office with a suspicious person, to the 2000 block of Merry Point Road for suspicious activity, to the 11000 block of Mary Ball Road for a road hazard, to Jessie duPont Memorial Highway for a reckless driver, to Irvington and Old Saint Johns roads for an intoxicated person, to the 400 block of Rappahannock Drive for a disabled vehicle, and to the 200 block of James Lane for suspicious activity.

October 3: Staff responded to the 8000 block of Mary Ball Road for an assault, to the 400 block of Mosquito Point Road for a verbal dispute, and to the 1000 block of Ocran Road for a suspicious person.

October 4: Staff responded to the 200 block of Oyster House Road for a larceny, to the 8000 block of Mary Ball Road for an assault, to the 10000 block of Mary Ball Road for a larceny, to Harris Road for the report of debris in the highway, and  to White Chapel Road for a traffic complaint.

October 5: Staff responded to the 8000 block of Mary Ball Road for a noise complaint, and to the 1100 block of Regina Road for an adult welfare check.

October 6: Staff responded to the 1200 block of Belmont Drive for an adult welfare check, to the 300 block of Chesapeake Drive for a larceny, to the 8000 block of Mary Ball Road for a suspicious person, and to the 3000 block of Irvington Road for a verbal dispute.

Staff also conducted 19 traffic stops, issued 24 summonses, assisted five motorists, recorded three deer strike accidents, handled a request for traffic control, investigated five building alarms, processed a mental health order, logged two inmate transports, received five E911 hang up calls, and fielded four calls for animal control service.

Fire call

The Kilmarnock and White Stone volunteer fire departments responded to a residential fire at 320 Keith Avenue.
