Sheriff’s Report 10-15-20

Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie this week reported misdemeanor charges against eight individuals.

A Lancaster man, 24, was charged October 7 with giving a false identity to a law enforcement officer, failure to appear on a traffic summons and driving without a license.

A Lottsburg woman, 39, was charged October 7 with issuing a worthless check.

A Lancaster woman, 40, was charged October 7 with issuing a worthless check.

A Kilmarnock woman, 36, was charged October 7 with two counts of contempt of court.

A Lancaster woman, 77, was charged October 7 with issuing a worthless check.

A Weems woman, 34, was charged October 7 with three counts of violating a juvenile and domestic relations court order.

An Irvington man, 83, was charged October 8 with brandishing a firearm and reckless handling of a firearm

A Weems woman, 38, was charged October 10 with destruction of property less than $1,000, and assault and battery.

Activity report

Oct. 5: Staff responded to River Road and Bertrand Place for a trespasser, to the 100 block of Bussells Lane for a stolen statue, and to Buzzards Neck Road for a 4-wheeler on the public roadway.

Oct. 6: Staff responded to the 100 block of Berkeley Forrest Road to assist emergency medical services with an unruly patient, to the 500 block of Southport Lane to assist Kilmarnock Police Department with a domestic disturbance, and to the 400 block of Twin Branch Road for the possible overdose of narcotics.

Oct. 7: Staff responded to the 300 block of Leetown Road for an unattended death, to the 3700 block of Mary Ball Road to assist Virginia State Police with a traffic stop of a wanted person, to the 200 block of Shady Lane for elder abuse and possible embezzlement, and to the 800 block of Middle Gate for the report of brandishing and discharging of a firearm.

Oct. 8: Staff responded to the 1400 block of Mosquito Point Road to assist the U.S. Coast Guard with a boater in distress, to the 200 block of Methodist Church Road for a possible suicidal person, to the 100 block of Entertainment Drive for an intoxicated person, and to the Robert O. Norris Jr. Memorial Bridge for a possible suicidal person.

Oct. 9: Staff responded to the 600 block of Hutchings Lane for a sudden death, to the 800 block of Rappahannock Drive for a suspicious person, to the 1800 block of Windmill Point Road for vandalism of a mailbox, and to Bertrand Place for a trespasser.

Oct. 10: Staff responded to the 200 block of Buzzards Neck Road for a domestic disturbance, to the Norris Bridge for a two-vehicle traffic crash involving a truck and a motorcycle with serious injuries, to the 200 block of Nuttsville Road for a domestic disturbance, to the 900 block of Weems Road for an assault, and to the 7800 block of River Road for a domestic assault.

Oct. 11: Staff responded to the 100 block of James Wharf Road for an abduction, to the 8600 block of Courthouse Road for a sudden death, and to the 100 block of Irvington Road for an intoxicated person in public.

Staff also conducted eight traffic stops, issued two summonses, recorded a deer strike accident, investigated three building alarms, processed a mental health order, logged five inmate transport and received 37 E911 hang-up calls.

Fire calls

White Stone Volunteer Fire Department responded to a brush fire on Gaskins Road and a traffic crash on the Norris Bridge.
