Sheriff’s Report 10-17-19

Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie this week issued the following reminder regarding littering:

“Citizens need to be aware that the anti-littering initiative is still a work in progress. A citizen recently observed trash being thrown out of a vehicle’s window and notified the Sheriff’s office. We located the person who committed the littering and they were issued a warning due to the complainant not wanting to pursue further charges. Please know if you are caught littering and charges are placed, a fine will go along with the charge.

Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie this week reported charges against nine individuals.

Felonies

Trevin Javon Anderson, 29, of White Stone was charged October 7 with malicious wounding, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony and resisting arrest to obstruct justice.

Shawna Lynn Pfarr, 37, of Weems was charged October 11 with unauthorized use of a vehicle, driving while intoxicated, refusal of a blood or breath test and driving while license is revoked.

Misdemeanors

A Heathsville man, 50, was charged October 7 with violation of a community based probation.

A Gloucester man, 49, was charged October 7 with contempt of court.

A Montross woman, 30, was charged October 7 with reckless driving.

A White Stone man, 18, was charged October 7 with destruction of property under $1,000 and assault.

A White Stone man, 61, was charged (no date given) with brandishing/pointing a firearm toward another.

A Lancaster man, 57, was charged October 9 with driving while intoxicated and refusal of a blood or breath test.

A Lancaster man, 61, was charged October 10 with two counts of cruelty to animals.

Activity report

October 7: Staff responded to the 20300 block of Mary Ball Road for the malicious wounding of a person by a firearm and the situation in progress, to the Robert O. Norris Jr. Memorial Bridge for debris causing a traffic hazard, to the 300 block of Wesley Terrace to investigate a reported death, and to the 200 block of Kathy Drive for the report of a burglary.

October 8: Staff responded to Old Salem Road for a two-vehicle traffic crash, to the 11100 block of Mary Ball Road for the report of obtaining money by false pretenses, to the 100 block of Dawson Avenue for brandishing of a firearm, and to the 100 block of Rose Drive for a domestic disturbance.

October 9: Staff responded to James Wharf Road for a suspicious vehicle, to the 100 block of Methodist Church Road for larceny from a donation shed, to the 100 block of Boat House Cove for a civil issue, to the 300 block of Weems Road for a fight in progress, to the 8300 block of Mary Ball Road for a suspicious vehicle, and to the 100 block of Bar Neck Lane for the violation of a protective order.

October 10: Staff responded to the 18800 block of Mary Ball Road for threats made to harm another, to the 800 block of Rappahannock Drive for a two-vehicle traffic crash, to the 100 block of River Bluff Road for identity fraud, to the Lively area of Mary Ball Road for a reckless driver, to the 100 block of Lagrange Avenue to assist the Northumberland County Sheriff’s Office with a fight in progress, to the 300 block of Twin Branch Road for a fight in progress involving a weapon, and to the 100 block of Gunther Lane for loud music.

October 11: Staff responded to the 1900 block of White Chapel Road for suspicious activity, to the 3200 block of Irvington Road for unauthorized use of a vehicle, to the 100 block of Hickory Hill Lane for identity fraud and attempted larceny, to the 600 block of Chesapeake Drive for suspicious activity, and to the 8400 block of Mary Ball Road for loud music.

October 12: Staff responded to the 100 block of Cherry Hill Road for a fight in progress involving weapons, to the 100 block of North Main Street to assist the Kilmarnock Police Department with a disorderly person, and to the 300 block of Campbell Road for loud music.

October 13: Staff responded to the 100 block of Watercress Lane for a domestic assault.

Staff also conducted eight traffic stops, issued three summonses, assisted five motorists, recorded six deer strike accidents, handled five calls for traffic control, investigated a building alarm, logged an inmate transport, received three E911 hang-up calls, and fielded three calls for animal control service.

Lancaster fire calls

Kilmarnock Volunteer Fire Department responded to a vehicle fire on south Main Street and a grill fire on Black Stump Road.

White Stone VFD responded to a fire/smoke alarm on Creekview Drive and James Wharf Road, a carbon monoxide alarm on Highbank Road, a traffic crash on Rappahannock Drive and a smell of smoke on James Wharf Road.

Upper Lancaster VFD responded to a brush fire on Morattico Road.

Lancaster EMS calls

For October 6-12, the Kilmarnock-Lancaster Volunteer Rescue Squad, Upper Lancaster Volunteer Rescue Squad and Lancaster County Emergency Services responded to 29 calls, including nine medical emergencies, seven injuries, two traffic accidents, four fire calls and seven other calls.

Northumberland fire calls

For the week of October 7-14, the Callao VFD responded to three calls, including two controlled burns and a medical call.

The Fairfields VFD responded to two calls, including a medical call and a woods fire.

Northumberland EMS calls

For the week of September 30-October 7, the Northumberland County Emergency Services, Callao Volunteer Rescue Squad, Mid-County Volunteer Rescue Squad and Northumberland County Volunteer Rescue Squad responded to 32 calls, including 20 medical calls, 10 trauma/fall calls, a standby and a motor vehicle crash.
