Sheriff’s Report 12-03-20

Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie this week reported misdemeanor charges against two individuals.

A Kilmarnock man, 68, was charged November 23 with intent to defraud, delivering a check knowing that there were insufficient funds in the the account.

A Lancaster man, 20, was charged November 24 with failure to appear in court.

Activity report

Nov. 23: Staff responded to River and Sage Hill roads for gunshots in the area, to the 400 block of Chiltons Lane for a verbal disagreement, to the 900 block of Clark Point Drive for larceny of construction equipment, and to the 200 block of Methodist Church Road for larceny of a wallet.

Nov. 24: Staff responded to the 100 block of Irvington Road for a disorderly person, and to the 800 block of King Carter Drive for a relative overdue from a shopping trip.

Nov. 25: Staff responded to the 200 block of The Lane to assist emergency medical service with a patient having an altered mental status, and to the 100 block of Chesapeake Drive for the report of a wanted person in the area.

Nov. 26: Staff responded to the 3100 block of Lara Road for a domestic disturbance involving child custody issues, to Iberis and Merry Point roads to assist the Game Conservation Officer with a report of shooting from the roadway, to the 200 block of River Road for an overturned single-vehicle traffic crash, to River Road and Bertrand Place for trespassers, to the 500 block of North Main Street to assist Kilmarnock Police Department (KPD) with a fight in progress, and to the 6700 block of Mary Ball Road for a two-vehicle traffic crash.

Nov. 27: Staff responded to the 200 block of Cherry Point Drive for the report of gunshots, to the 1100 block of Regina Road for threats made to harm another, and to the 100 block of Fox Den Road for a missing person.

Nov. 28: Staff responded to the 200 block of Windmill Point Road for a sudden death, to the 100 block of Hatton Avenue to assist KPD with domestic disturbance involving alcohol, to the 400 block of North Main Street to assist KPD with an intoxicated and disorderly person

Nov. 29: Staff responded to the 100 block of Cralle Street for suspicious activity, and to the 1900 block of Black Stump Road for a noise violation from loud music.

Staff also conducted 31 traffic stops, issued 23 summonses, assisted six motorists, recorded five deer strike accidents, investigated four building alarms, received 37 E911 hang-up calls, and fielded two calls for animal control service.

Fire calls

Kilmarnock Volunteer Fire Department responded an odor of propane on Roseneath Avenue, and with White Stone VFD to a chimney fire on York Road.

White Stone VFD also responded to Weems Road for a tree on the powerline.

Upper Lancaster VFD responded to separate traffic crashes on River Road and Mary Ball Road, as well as a fire/smoke alarm on Queenstown Road.
