Sheriff’s Report 12-04-25

Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie this week reported charges against six individuals.

Felonies

Travis Devon Wiggins, 38, of Lancaster was charged November 23 with communicating a threat to bomb, burn, destroy and discharge a firearm within or at, or damage a place of assembly, building or other structure; and assault and battery (misdemeanor).

Steven Woodrow Self, 63, of Weems was charged November 27 with maliciously shooting at an occupied vehicle; and  assault and battery of a family or household member (misdemeanor), two counts of assault and battery (misdemeanor), and while being a person permitted to carry a concealed handgun, carrying a concealed handgun in a public place while under the influence of alcohol (misdemeanor).

Misdemeanors

A Lancaster man, 42, was charged November 24 with assault and battery of a household member.

A Lancaster woman, 36, was charged November 25 with assault and battery.

A White Stone man, 41, was charged November 28 with assault and battery and trespassing.

A Lancaster woman, 37, was charged November 28 with knowingly obstructing law enforcement in the performance of duties as such or fail or refuse to cease such obstruction without just cause when requested to do so.

Activity report

November 24: Staff responded to the 500 block of North Main Street for a disabled vehicle, and to Beach and River Bluff roads for a suspicious vehicle.

November 25: Staff responded to the 8000 block of Mary Ball Road for a fraud, and to the 3000 block of Windmill Point Road for legal advice.

November 26: Staff responded to Pinckardsville and Mary Ball roads for a single-vehicle traffic crash, to the 100 block of Kathy Drive for a verbal threat, to the 40 block of Courtney Road for an adult welfare check, and to the 2000 block of Black Stump Road for a domestic assault.

November 27: Staff responded to Mary Ball Road for a reckless driver.

November 28: Staff responded to the 7000 block of River Road for a domestic disturbance.

November 29: Staff responded to the 8000 block of Mary Ball Road for a domestic disturbance, to the 5000 block of White Chapel Road for a suspicious vehicle, and to the 100 block of Campbell Road for a domestic disturbance.

November 30: Staff responded to the 200 block of Pond Park Road for a child welfare check.

Staff also conducted 18 traffic stops, issued seven summonses, assisted five motorists, recorded five deer strike accidents, handled a request for traffic control, investigated seven building alarms, processed a mental health order, logged two inmate transports, received nine E911 hang up calls, and fielded three calls for animal control service.

Fire calls

White Stone Volunteer Fire Department responded to a chimney fire on Edgewater Drive.
