Sheriff’s Report 1-02-20

Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie this week reported misdemeanor charges against five individuals.

A Lancaster woman, 42 was charged December 23 with fail to appear on a misdemeanor offense.

A Petersburg man, 32, was charged December 25 with violating conditions of a pretrial release.

A Lancaster man, 30, was charged December 27 with two counts of assault and battery of a family member.

An Irvington woman, 18, was charged December 28 with contempt of court: failure to appear.

A Weems man, 71, was charged December 29 with violating a provision of a protective order.

Activity Report

December 23: Staff responded to the 400 block of Irvington Road to assist emergency medical services (EMS) with entry into the residence for a medical issue, to the 600 block of Newtown Road for the unauthorized use of a vehicle, to Goodluck and Mary Ball roads for a two-vehicle traffic crash with injuries, to the 100 block of Washington Street for a domestic assault, and to the 100 block of Cherry Hill Road for a person with mental issues.

December 24: Staff responded to the 13400 block of Mary Ball Road for the possible larceny of a driver’s license and credit card, to Windmill Point Road for an intoxicated driver, and to the 6000 block of Mary Ball Road for a domestic assault.

December 25: Staff responded to Mary Ball and Merry Point roads for a vehicle stopped in the roadway and the driver unresponsive, to Windmill Point Road for reckless drivers, to the 300 block of Fleets Bay Road for an intoxicated and disorderly person, to the 100 block of Turner Lane for gun shots, to the 500 block of Bayport Lane for a verbal disagreement involving alcohol, to the 6700 block of Courthouse Road for a single-vehicle traffic crash, and to Oyster Creek Drive and Windmill Point Drive for a suicide attempt.

December 26: Staff responded to the 500 block of Southport Lane for trespassers, and to the 2800 block of River Road for a vehicle causing a traffic hazard.

December 27: Staff responded to the 400 block of Kenmore Avenue for a suspicious vehicle, to the 4100 block of Windmill Point Road for a reckless driver, to the 200 block of North Main Street for a vehicle causing a traffic hazard, to the 200 block of Beach Road for identity theft, and to the 200 block of Methodist Church Road for a suicidal person.

December 28: Staff responded to the 100 block of Irvington Road to assist Kilmarnock Police department (KPD) with the report of a burglary and grand larceny, to the 500 block of Johns Neck Road for a missing juvenile, to Merry Point Road for a reckless motorcyclist, to the 1200 block of Iberis Road for trespassers, to the 100 block of Rappahannock Drive to check the welfare of the residents after being alerted to do so by a family member, and to a walk-in report of unwanted text messages.

December 29: Staff responded to the 600 block of Boys Camp Road for shots fired, to the 600 block of Benson Road for a verbal disagreement, to Black Stump Road for a four wheeler on the highway, to the 100 block of Harris Drive for a trespasser, and to the 100 block of Bar Neck Lane for a domestic assault.

Staff also conducted 17 traffic stops, issued nine summonses, assisted seven motorists, recorded seven deer strike accidents, handled a call for traffic control, investigated five building alarms, processed a mental health order, logged five inmate transports, received four E911 hang-up calls, and fielded a call for animal control service.

Fire calls

Kilmarnock Volunteer Fire Department assisted EMS on Mariners Watch Lane and responded with White Stone VFD to a fire/smoke alarm on Lancaster Drive.

Upper Lancaster VFD assisted Richmond County with separate fire calls on Folly Neck Road and Ridge Road, and EMS on Ondacreek Lane, and responded to a traffic crash on Courthouse Road.

EMS calls

For the weeks of December 15-28, the Kilmarnock-Lancaster Volunteer Rescue Squad, Upper Lancaster Volunteer Rescue Squad and Lancaster County Emergency Services responded to 67 calls, including 34 medical emergencies, 15 injuries, six traffic accidents, two fires and 10 other calls.

Sheriff McCranie on December 23 reported misdemeanor charges against three individuals.

A Kilmarnock man, 25, was charged December 18 with possession of marijuana and show cause: non-support court order.

A Lancaster man, 54, was charged December 19 with a probation violation on a felony offense.

A Heathsville man, 29, was charged December 19 with contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Activity Report

December 16: Staff responded to the 100 block of Kathy Drive for unsupervised juveniles, to the 400 block of Irvington Road to check the welfare of a resident after receiving a report from a friend, and to the 100 block of North Main Street to assist the KPD with a domestic disturbance.

December 17: Staff responded to the 200 block of Oyster Creek Drive to investigate a reported death, and to the 400 block of East Church Street for vandalism of a church.

December 18: Staff responded to Lively for a reckless driver on Mary Ball Road, to Mary Ball and Regina roads for a single-vehicle traffic crash, and to a walk-in report of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

December 19: Staff responded to Mary Ball Road and Simmons Lane for a two-vehicle traffic crash, to the 5100 block Windmill Point Road to check the welfare of a resident after being alerted by a friend, to Weems and Christ Church roads for a single-vehicle traffic crash, to the 600 block of Senora Road for a suspicious vehicle, to the 100 block of Cherry Hill Road for a trespasser, and to the 100 block of North Main Street to assist KPD with a three-vehicle traffic crash with injuries.

December 20: Staff responded to the 500 block of Rappahannock Drive for vandalism of a building, and to a walk-in report of the unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.

December 21: Staff responded to the 700 block of Ocran Road to check the welfare of a resident because of medical issues, and to the 400 block of Woods Drive for a possible prowler.

December 22: Staff responded to the Robert O. Norris Jr. Memorial Bridge for a pedestrian walking in the roadway.

Staff also conducted 22 traffic stops, issued seven summonses, assisted 10 motorists, recorded eight deer strike accidents, handled five calls for traffic control, investigated 14 building alarms, received five E911 hang-up calls, and fielded two calls for animal control service.

Fire calls

White Stone VFD responded to smoke in a building on Rappahannock Drive and a brush fire on Ocran Road.

Kilmarnock VFD responded to a traffic crash on North Main Street, with White Stone VFD to a possible structure fire on Oyster Creek Drive and with Upper Lancaster VFD to a structure fire on Courtney Road.

Northumberland County Sheriff James R. “Doc” Lyons this week reported charges against 8 individuals.

Felonies

Joshua Williams Segaiini, 40, of Mathews was charged December 20 with grand larceny.

Michael Lynn Hayden Sr., 38, of Callao was charged December 24 on a warrant of extradition from the state of Georgia for aggravated assault.

Misdemeanors

A Kilmarnock man, 25, was charged December 18 with a capias/attachment of the body issued by the Northumberland General District Court for failing to appear and not hiring counsel.

A Lancaster County man, 63, was charged December 21 with driving while under the influence of alcohol and reckless driving. He also was charged on summonses for no seatbelt and an improper turn at an intersection.

A Heathsvllle man, 59, was charged December 22 with trespassing after being forbidden to do so.

A Norfolk man, 52, was charged December 23 with a capias/attachment of the body issued by the Northumberland County General District Court for falling to appear for trial.

A Callao man, 33, was charged December 27 on a capias/attachment of the body issued from Nottoway General District Court for failing to appear.

Nokesville man, 21, was charged December 30 with driving under the influence of alcohol. He also was charged on summonses for illegal operation of an ATV and failing to wear a helmet.
