Sheriff’s Report 10-12-23

Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie this week reported misdemeanor charges against two individuals.

A White Stone woman, 73, was charged October 3 with driving while intoxicated and refusal to submit to breath/or blood for chemical test.

A Lancaster woman, 51, was charged October 5 with failure to appear in Gloucester County General District Court.

Activity Report

October 2: Staff responded to the 9000 block of Mary Ball Road for disorderly conduct; and to Morattico and Nuttsville roads for a suspicious person.

October 3: Staff responded to the 100 block of Wharton Grove Lane for a welfare check, to the 500 block of Little Oyster Lane for a suspicious person, and to the 100 block of Doggett Lane for a suspicious person.

October 4: Staff responded to the 8000 block of Mary Ball Road for an assault, to the 500 Block of Ottoman Ferry Road for suspicious activity, to the 700 block of Corrotoman Drive for a fight in progress, to the 60 block of Shelton Drive for a dispute, and to the 17000 block of Mary Ball Road for a disabled vehicle.

October 5: Staff responded to the 300 block of Regina Road for a civil complaint, and to the 100 block of Locksley Hall Road to assist the Northumberland County Sheriff’s Office with a dispute between neighbors.

October 6: Staff responded to the Robert O. Norris Jr. Memorial Bridge for debris in the roadway causing a traffic hazard, to the 8000 block of Mary Ball Road for fraud, to the 1700 block of Laurel Point Road for suspicious activity, to the 1000 block of Cherry Point Drive for a property dispute, to the 300 block of Loblolly Road for larceny, to the 300 block of Windmill Point for trespassing, and to the 10000 block of Mary Ball Road for a single-vehicle accident.

October 7: Staff responded to the 1300 block of Hutton Lane for trespassing, to Whites Lane for a disabled vehicle, to the 20000 block of Mary Ball Road for a single-vehicle accident, to the 18000 block of Mary Ball Road for trespassing, to the Norris Bridge for a reckless driver, and to the 90 block of Sunset Drive for a noise complaint.

October 8: Staff responded to River and Mary Ball roads for a reckless driver, and to the 200 block of Woodbrook Drive for larceny.

Staff also conducted seven traffic stops, issued five summonses, assisted a motorist, recorded two deer strike accidents, handled a call for traffic control, investigated four building alarms, logged an inmate transport, received seven E911 hang up calls, and fielded four calls for animal control service.

Fire calls

The Upper Lancaster Volunteer Fire Department responded to a brush fire on Miskimon Road.

The Kilmarnock VFD responded to a brush fire on Bluff Point Road.

The White Stone VFD responded to a fire alarm on York Road.
