Sheriff’s Report 2-21-19

Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie this week reported charges against five individuals.

Felonies

Karlide Anthony Harding, 27, of Weems was charged February 13 with breaking and entering an occupied dwelling to commit a certain misdemeanor and threatening an illegal or immoral act with intent to coerce, intimidate or harass a person over the telephone.

Kevin Daniel Radford, 43, of Richmond was charged February 15 with unauthorized use of an automobile, resisting arrest/obstruction of justice, and two counts of assault and battery of a family member.

Misdemeanors

A Kilmarnock man, 46, was charged February 12 with violation of revocation of pretrial release-misdemeanor.

A Lancaster man, 32, was charged February 12 with assault.

A Kilmarnock man, 30, was charged February 13 with failure to appear on a violation of probation-felony offense.

Activity report

February 11: Staff responded to the 100 block of New South Road to assist the Kilmarnock Police Department (KPD) with a domestic disturbance.

February 12: Staff responded to the 3700 block of Merry Point Road for a possible suicidal person, to Black Stump Road for the report of the larceny of automobile keys, to Jessie duPont Memorial Highway for a two-vehicle traffic crash, and to the 100 block of Holly Haven Road for a domestic disturbance.

February 13: Staff responded to the Robert O. Norris Jr. Memorial Bridge for debris on the highway causing a traffic hazard, to the 100 block of East Cove Lane for a child custody issue, to Mary Ball Road in the Chinns Mill area for a reckless driver, to the 400 block of Brightwaters Drive for a trespasser, and to the 100 block of Kellum Drive for a possible burglary in progress.

February 14: Staff responded to the 100 block of Washington Street for a possible burglary, to the 3800 block of Black Stump Road for a vehicle parked in the highway, to the 300 block of Mosquito Point Road for a domestic disturbance, and to the 100 block of East Cove Lane for threats made to harm another.

February 15: Staff responded to the 400 block of Gilbert Street for a possible suicidal person, to Windmill Point and Mosquito Point roads for a suspicious person, to the 100 block of East Cove Lane for a wanted person, and to the Norris Bridge for debris on the highway causing a traffic hazard.

February 16: Staff responded to the 100 block of Chase Street to assist KPD with a burglary and assault of the resident, to Indiantown Road for loud music, and to the 1100 block of Carlson Road for shots fired from a vehicle traveling on the highway.

February 17: Staff responded to the 8800 block of Mary Ball Road for threats to harm themselves, to Windmill Point Road for a single-vehicle traffic crash, to the 300 block of Indiantown Road for vandalism of a residence, to a walk-in report of a stolen Hi-Point 380 caliber handgun, to the 3800 block of Mary Ball Road for a domestic disturbance involving a juvenile, to the 700 block of Newtown Road for a domestic assault, to Mary Ball Road near Lively for an abandoned vehicle, and to the Norris Bridge for debris on the road surface.

Staff also conducted 11 traffic stops, issued three summonses, assisted three motorists, recorded three deer strike accidents, handled six calls for traffic control, investigated four building alarms, processed a mental health order, logged eight inmate transports, received eight E911 hang-up calls and fielded a call for animal control service.

Fire calls

The Kilmarnock Volunteer Fire Department responded to a traffic crash on Jessie duPont Memorial Highway.

The White Stone VFD responded to a traffic crash on Windmill Point Road.

The Upper Lancaster VFD responded to the smell of propane on Morattico Road.

EMS calls

For February 10-16, the Kilmarnock-Lancaster Volunteer Rescue Squad, Upper Lancaster Volunteer Rescue Squad and Lancaster County Emergency Services responded to 43 calls for service, including 22 medical emergencies, four injuries, four traffic accidents, a fire call and 12 other calls.
