Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie this week reported misdemeanor charges against four individuals.
A Norfolk man, 21, was charged February 20 with reckless driving, speeding over 20 mph above the speed limit, failure to appear, and failure to appear on a traffic summons.
A Lancaster man, 42, was charged February 22 with violation of a protective order.
A Kilmarnock woman, 18, was charged February 24 with possession of marijuana and driving while not licensed.
A Topping woman, 28, was charged February 24 with refusal to take a blood or breath test, second offense, driving while intoxicated, second offense within 5-10 years and speeding 71 in a 55 zone.

February 18: Staff responded to the 100 block of Reynolds Farm Road for a domestic disturbance involving alcohol, to the 100 block of Meadowview Lane for a possible burglary in progress, to the 500 block of North Main Street to assist the Kilmarnock Police Department (KPD) with a suicidal person, to the 900 block of Ocran Road to check the welfare of a resident after receiving a report that contact had not been made for a few days, to the 600 block of Moran Creek Road for a trespasser, to Irvington and Harris roads for a two-vehicle traffic crash, to Mary Ball Road and Milburn Way to assist the Virginia State Police (VSP) with a vehicle search, and to the 5500 block of River Road for an assault.
February 19: Staff responded to the 500 block of North Main Street to assist KPD with a person with mental issues, to the Robert O. Norris Jr. Memorial Bridge for the report of debris on the highway, to the intersection of Jessie duPont Memorial Highway and Ditchley Road for a two-vehicle traffic crash, to the 800 block of Nuttsville Road for an unruly juvenile, to the 200 block of Johns Neck Road for a child custody dispute, and to Weems and Lumberlost roads for a single-vehicle traffic crash.
February 20: Staff responded to Crawfords Corner Road for a single-vehicle traffic crash with property damage, to Mary Ball Road and White Marsh Lane for a single vehicle traffic crash, to the 700 block of Mary Ball Road for a single-vehicle traffic crash versus a tree, to the 200 block of Campbell Road for violation of a protective order, to the 100 block of Beach Road for a stolen vehicle, to the 100 block of Holly Haven Road for a domestic disturbance, to the 100 block of Virginia Road for a domestic disturbance, and to the 400 block of Kenmore Avenue for a report of embezzlement.
February 21: Staff responded to the 100 block of East Cove Lane for a suicidal person, to the 100 block of Eubank Drive to assist KPD with a missing elderly man, and to the 400 block of Rappahannock Drive for gun shots fired in the area.
February 22: Staff responded to the 1700 block of Mary Ball Road for an abandoned vehicle, to the 400 block of North Main Street to assist KPD with an assault, and to the 6700 block of Mary Ball Road for a disabled vehicle blocking one lane of traffic.
February 23: Staff responded to the 100 block of Otis Lane for a domestic disturbance involving a juvenile, to the 200 block of Nunn Lane for an intoxicated person, and to the 200 block of Lowery Creek Road for an unattended death.
February 24: Staff responded to the 700 block of Loblolly Road for property damage and trespassing, to Main Street for an intoxicated driver, and to the 1100 block of Bluff Point Road to assist the Northumberland County Sheriff’s Office (NCSO) with a domestic disturbance.
Staff also conducted 16 traffic stops, issued nine summonses, assisted five motorists, recorded a deer strike accident, handled five calls for traffic control, investigated three building alarms, processed a mental health order, logged two inmate transports, received eight E911 hang-up calls and fielded four calls for animal control service.
Fire calls
The Kilmarnock Volunteer Fire Department responded to separate traffic crashes at Harris and Irvington roads, Jessie duPont Memorial Highway and Ditchley Road, and Mary Ball Road and White Marsh Lane; and with the Upper Lancaster VFD to an excavator fire on Courthouse Road.
The Upper Lancaster VFD also responded to a traffic crash on Mary Ball Road, a carbon monoxide alarm on Merry Point Road and a lift assistance request on Kennedy Avenue.
EMS calls
For February 17-23, the Kilmarnock-Lancaster Volunteer Rescue Squad, Upper Lancaster Volunteer Rescue Squad and Lancaster County Emergency Services responded to 56 calls for service, including 31 medical emergencies, six injuries, four traffic accidents, a fire call and 14 other calls.
Northumberland County Sheriff James R. “Doc” Lyons this week reported charges against eight individuals.
Felonies
Karlide Anthony Harding Jr., 27, of Weems was charged February 13 with breaking and entering an occupied house and threatening an illegal act over the phone.
Tiffany Nicole Wade, 27, of Waldorf, Md., was charged February 18 on a direct indictment from the Northumberland County Multi-jurisdictional Grand Jury for one felony count of distribution/sale for profit a Schedule I or II drug. She also was charged with reckless regard for human life while being a guardian.
Misdemeanors
A Heathsville woman, 31, was charged February 10 with two misdemeanor counts of damaging property and a summons was issued for her being drunk in public. These were Northumberland County warrants served by the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office.
A Reedville woman, 41, was charged February 13 with damaging property.
A Callao man, 57, was charged February 17 with violating a protective order.
A Lancaster County man, 47, was charged February 18 with a capias/attachment of body issued from the Northumberland County Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court for failing to appear. He was served by the Westmoreland County Sheriff’s Office.
A Dunnsville woman, 20, was charged February 24 with assault and battery. This was an Essex County warrant served by NCSO.
A Callao man, 28, was charged February 24 with assault and battery.
