Sheriff’s Report 6-04-20

Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie this week reported misdemeanor charges against two individuals.

A Lancaster woman, 40, was charged May 26 with contempt of court: disobeying process, judgement.

A Kilmarnock man, 21, was charged May 30 with assault and battery of a family member.

Activity report

May 25: Staff responded to the 3000 block of White Chapel Road for a sudden death, to the 700 block of Creekwater Drive for an unattended jet ski, to the 500 block of Goodluck Road for trash being thrown from a vehicle, to the 11000 block of River Road for a domestic assault, and to a walk-in report of brandishing a firearm and threatening to harm another that occurred in the Merry Point area.

May 26: Staff responded to Merry Point for threats made to harm another, to the 1900 block of Goodluck Road for damage to a vehicle caused by an object falling from a truck, to Black Stump Road for a reckless driver, to the 400 block of Johns Neck Road for a four-wheeler on the roadway which resulted in the driver being issued a traffic summons, and to the 500 block of Gaskins Road for a possible assault.

May 27: Staff responded to the 300 block of Gaskins Road for a verbal disagreement, to the 600 block of North Main Street for an assault, and to the 100 block of Washington Street for a fight in progress.

May 28: Staff responded to the 300 block of East Church Street to assist Kilmarnock Police Department with an intoxicated and disorderly person.

May 29: Staff responded to the 100 block of Pond Park Road for shooting into an occupied building/residence, to Thomas Landing Road for suspicious activity, to the 100 block of Wesley Terrace for destruction of property, to the 8600 block of Mary Ball Road for tree limbs in the highway, to the 2100 block of Windmill Point Road for possible construction fraud, to Buzzards Neck Road for gunshots, to the 6100 block of Windmill Point Road for a single-vehicle traffic crash, to the 600 block of Cedar Pointe Drive for a domestic issue involving a dementia patient, to the 100 block of Pond Park Road for gunshots toward an occupied dwelling, and to the 300 block of Old Orchard Road for suspicious activity.

May 30: Staff responded to the 100 block of Wesley Terrace for suspicious activity, to Carters Cove Drive for a motorcyclist not wearing a helmet on the highway, to the 100 block of Wesley Terrace for a person with an altered mental status, to Windjammer Lane for a suspicious vehicle, to the 500 block of Goodluck Road for a domestic assault, to Wiggins Avenue for a single-vehicle traffic crash, to the 100 block of Wesley Terrace for a suspicious person, and twice to the 100 block of Pond Park Road for gunshots in the area.

May 31: Staff responded to the 100 block of Muskreek Road for suspicious activity, to the 3100 block of White Chapel Road for a sudden death, to the 400 block of North Main Street for a suspicious vehicle at a closed business, and to the 200 block of Moccasin Trail for gunshots in the area.

Staff also conducted two traffic stops, issued three summonses, recorded a deer strike accident, investigated three building alarms, processed a mental health order, transported two inmates, received 12 E911 hang-up calls, and fielded two calls for animal control service.

Fire calls

The Kilmarnock Volunteer Fire Department responded to a fire/smoke alarm on Gascony Lane and a traffic crash on North Main Street.

White Stone Volunteer Fire Department responded to a fire/smoke alarm on Rappahannock Drive and a traffic crash on Windmill Point Road.

EMS calls

For May 24-30, the Kilmarnock-Lancaster Volunteer Rescue Squad, Upper Lancaster Volunteer Rescue Squad and Lancaster County Emergency Services responded to 37 calls, including 18 medical emergencies, eight injuries, two traffic accidents and nine other calls.

Northumberland County Sheriff Johnny Beauchamp this week reported charges against 12 individuals.

Felonies

Antonio Javon Morris, 34, of Reedville was charged May 18 with rape through the use of the victim’s mental incapacity or physical helplessness.

Floyd Donovan Newton, 30, of Caiiao was charged May 18 on a capias issued from the Winchester Circuit Court for failing to appear on a felony.

Edward Crowther Barnes II, 41, of Reedville was charged May 23 with felony shoplifting from the Walmart in Tappahannock. This was an Essex County warrant served by the Northumberland County Sheriffs Office (NCSO).

Dwayne D’Ante Gray, 28, of Callao was charged May 26 with abuse/child neglect, and two misdemeanor counts of assault and battery on family members and damaging property.

Misdemeanors

A Lancaster County man, 33, was charged May 14 with a violation of a protective order. He was arrested by the Henrico County Sheriffs Office. This was a Northumberland County warrant.

A female (no address given, 35, was charged May 20 with assault and battery of a family member and damaging property.

A Reedville man, 25, was charged May 24 with brandishing a firearm and reckless handling of a firearm. This was a Westmoreland County warrant served by the NCSO.

A Heathsville woman, 35, was charged May 29 with assault.

A Heathsville man, 31, was issued a summons May 30 for trespassing on Jetty’s Reach, which is considered a private area.

A Strasburg woman, 36, was issued a summons May 30 for trespassing on Jetty’s Reach, which is considered a private area.
