Sheriff’s report 8-29-19

Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie this week reported charges against three individuals.

Felony

Pearly Elania Walters, 42, of Reedville was charged (no date given) with credit card fraud, credit card theft and obtaining money from credit card fraud.

Misdemeanors

A Weems man, 55, was charged August 19 with assault and trespass after being forbidden to do so.

A Weems woman, 35, was charged August 20 contempt of court-failure to appear.

A White Stone woman, 41, was charged August 22 with contempt of court-failure to appear.

A Sandston woman, 54, was charged August 22 with violation of a protective order.

A Lancaster man, 21, was charged August 23 with failure to appear in court.

A White Stone man, 20, was charged August 23 with violations of the conditions of VASAP.

A Lancaster man, 21, was charged August 23 with violation of pretrial conditions.

A Lancaster man, 38, was charged August 24 with failure to appear in court.

Activity report 

August 19: Staff responded to the 300 block of Morattico Road for an abandoned vehicle causing a traffic hazard, to the 400 block of Long Cove Lane to assist the Virginia Marine Resources Commission with a small sailboat adrift, to the 100 block of Washington Street for vandalism of car tires, and to the 400 block of Whittaker Lane to assist the Northumberland County Sheriff’s Office with a domestic assault with injuries.

August 20: Staff responded to the 200 block of Rocky Neck Road for vandalism of a vehicle, to the 400 block of Greentown Road for an unknown disturbance, to the 100 block of Skye Drive for a suspicious vehicle, to Ring Farm Road for an abandoned bicycle, to the 500 block of Gaskins Road for a domestic disturbance, to the 100 block of Sandlin Drive for larceny of U.S. currency, and to the 1800 block of Hoecake Road for a downed tree in the roadway.

August 21: Staff responded to the 700 block of Christ Church Road for a disorderly person, to the 1800 block of Hoecake Road for a suicidal person, to Buzzards Neck Road for a go-kart being ridden on the public roadway, to the 1000 block of Beanes Road for a verbal disagreement, to the 9200 block of Mary Ball Road for a possible suicidal person, to a walk-in report of the violation of a protective order, and to River Road for a suicidal person armed with a knife.

August 22: Staff responded to Mary Ball and Merry Point roads for a motorcycle riding back and forth reckless driving, to the 1000 block of Western Branch Road for the report of a trespasser, and to Rehoboth Church for two motorcycles driving recklessly.

August 23: Staff responded to the 100 block of Buzzards Neck Road for a .38 caliber handgun.  

August 24: Staff responded to the 4100 block of Merry Point Road for a domestic disturbance, to Lively for a vehicle in the roadway causing a traffic hazard, to the 400 block of Twin Branch Road for threats made to harm another while in possession of a weapon and involving alcohol, to the 100 block of East Bay Drive for a shooting, and to the 500 block of Mosquito Point Road for threats made to harm another. 

Staff also conducted three traffic stops, issued three summonses, assisted nine motorists, investigated four building alarms, processed two mental health orders, logged two inmate transports, received six E911 hang-up calls and fielded two calls for animal control service.

Fire calls

The Kilmarnock Volunteer Fire Department responded to a brush fire on Oakland Park Lane, a fuel spill at School Street and Irvington Road, separate traffic crashes on Old Fairground Way and on Main Street, separate fire/smoke alarms on Pine Reach Drive and on School Street, with the Upper Lancaster VFD to a structure fire on Iberis Road, and with the White Stone VFD to a fire/smoke alarm on Windmill Point Road.

The Upper Lancaster VFD also responded to a traffic crash on Mary Ball Road.

EMS calls

For August 18-24, the Kilmarnock-Lancaster Volunteer Rescue Squad, Upper Lancaster Volunteer Rescue Squad and Lancaster County Emergency Services responded to 46 calls for service, including 23 medical emergencies, seven injuries, two traffic accidents, five fires and nine other calls.
