Sheriffs’ Reports 01-14-21

Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie this week reported misdemeanor charges against five individuals.

A White Stone man, 38, was charged January 4 with violating a protective order and damaging property valued less than $1,000.

A Lancaster woman, 45, was charged January 4 with using profane or threatening language over the telephone.

A Rocky Mount woman, 39, was charged January 6 with contempt of court, failure to appear.

A Kilmarnock man, 68, was charged January 8 with failure to appear on a misdemeanor offense.

A Kilmarnock man, 18, was charged January 9 with driving while intoxicated and under 21.

Activity report

January 4: Staff responded to the 100 block of Kellum Drive for vandalism, to the 7800 block of River Road for a civil issue/ATM transaction, to the 4800 block of Windmill Point Road for a traffic hazard from a water line break, to the 400 block of Levelgreen Road to check the welfare of juvenile residents after being alerted by a concerned person, to the 100 block of Bobwhite Lane to check the welfare of a juvenile after being alerted by a family member, and to the 300 block of Windmill Point Road for a suspicious person.

January 5: Staff responded to Mary Ball Road in Lively for two reckless drivers, to the 6000 block of Mary Ball Road for embezzlement, to the 1100 block of Granville Bay Road for vandalism, to the 5000 block of Mary Ball Road for shots fired toward an occupied dwelling, and to the 3000 block of White Chapel Road for a suspicious vehicle.

January 6: Staff responded to the 1000 block of White Chapel Road for a domestic disturbance, to the 500 block of North Main Street for a domestic disturbance, to the 200 block of Methodist Church Road for suspicious activity, to the 8800 block of Mary Ball Road for a reckless driver, to the 400 block of North Main Street to assist Kilmarnock Police with a disorderly person, to the 400 block of Lancaster Creek Drive for a domestic disturbance, to Irvington Road and School Street for a person with mental issues, and to the 500 block of Wilson Lane for vandalism of a vehicle.

January 7: Staff responded to the 4000 block of Mary Ball Road for a suspicious vehicle, and to Mary Ball and Regina roads to assist Virginia State Police (VSP) with a vehicle search.

January 8: Staff responded to the 1100 block of Fleets Bay Road to assist emergency medical services with lift assistance, and to the 100 block of the Pony Pasture for a sudden death.

January 9: Staff responded to Mary Ball and Old Salem roads to assist VSP with a vehicle search, to the 4300 block of Irvington Road for vandalism of a vehicle, to the 2700 block of White Chapel Road for a suspicious person, and to the 9900 block of Mary Ball Road to assist VSP with a vehicle search.

January 10: Staff responded to the 300 block of Rio Vista for a domestic disturbance, to the 100 block of Rappahannock Landing for suspicious activity, to the 100 block of Reynolds Farm Road for juvenile behavior issues, and to the 700 block of Old Orchard Road for the report of illegal dumping.

Staff also conducted 27 traffic stops, issued 14 summonses, recorded five deer strike accidents, handled two calls for traffic control, investigated two building alarms, logged two inmate transports, received 28 E911 hang-up calls, and fielded four calls for animal control service.

Fire calls

The Upper Lancaster and Kilmarnock volunteer fire departments responded to a structure fire on Courthouse Road and to a chimney fire on Leland Road.

Northumberland County Sheriff Johnny Beauchamp this week reported charges against 19 individuals.

Felonies

Kadene Roy Gordon, 22, of Heathsville was charged December 29 on a capias to show cause issued by the Northumberland County Circuit Court for failing to appear.

Bennie Terrio Lee, 37, of Burgess was charged December 31 with three felonies: driving under the influence of alcohol, third offense within 10 years; driving revoked; and possession of a Schedule I or II drug. He also was charged with two misdemeanors: driving a motor vehicle while being revoked/suspended and obstruction of justice. He was also charged with three summonses for failing to register or obtain a title; drinking while driving with an open container; and possession of a license plate/decal when not entitled.

Joyce Marie Dabney, 39, of Richmond was charged January 3 with assault and battery of a police officer, giving false identity to law enforcement, two charges of obstruction of justice and being drunk in public.

Bertrum Anthony Conaway, 61, of Heathsville was charged January 5 with malicious bodily injury; attempted malicious bodily injury; use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, second-plus offense; and possession of a firearm by a violent felon. He also was charged with misdemeanor reckless handling of a firearm.

Takwan D. Lucas-Croxton, 25, of Hague was charged with two felonies, disregard for law enforcement command and possession of a Schedule I or II drug. He also was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, first offense; driving revoked/suspended; damaging property; and speeding.

Misdemeanors

A Heathsville man, 18, was charged December 19 with brandishing a firearm.

A Heathsville man, 55, was charged December 20 with violating a protective order.

A Kilmarnock man, 39, was charged December 20 with a Capias/Attachment of the Body for failing to provide child support as ordered.

A Callao man, 33, was charged December 22 with petit larceny from the Family Dollar.

A Hague man, 21, was charged December 23 on a warrant issued by the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office for reckless handling of a firearm and shooting across the road or street.

A Heathsville man, 46, was charged December 28 with disregarding law enforcement commands, reckless driving, driving on a revoked/suspended license and possession of a certificate of title issued to another. He was issued a summons for failing to stop at a stop sign, possession of a license plate/decal when not entitled, failure to inspect vehicle and operating an uninsured vehicle.

An Urbanna man, 37, was charged December 29 with a capias to show cause issued by the Northumberland County Circuit Court for a probation violation. He was arrested by the Suffolk Police Department.

A Burgess man, 37, was charged December 31with a capias to show cause issued by the Northumberland County Circuit Court on a probation violation.

A Montross man, 65, was charged December 31 with driving under the influence of alcohol, first offense; failing to drive on the right side of the road; and failing to notify DMV of change of address.

A Heathsville man, 61, was charged January 3 with assault and battery.

A Heathsville man, 43, was charged January 3 with violating a protective order and trespassing after being forbidden to do so.

A Tappahannock man, 28, was charged January 7 with being drunk in public and possession of marijuana.

A Farnham man, 58, was charged January 8 with driving under the influence of alcohol, first offense; and refusal of a breath test.

A Lancaster man, 29, was charged with possession of a certificate of title issued to another; failure to register or obtain certificate of title; and operating an uninsured vehicle.
