Sheriffs’ Reports 01-28-21

Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie this week reported charges against three individuals.

Felony

John Piorko, 49, of Weems was charged January 19 with four counts of check forgery, four counts of uttering a forged check and petit larceny.

Misdemeanors

A Lancaster woman, 28, was charged January 22 with failure to appear on a traffic summons.

A Weems man, 31, was charged January 24 with failure to appear on a traffic summons.

Activity report

January 18: Staff responded to the 4200 block of Lara Road to check the welfare of a resident, to the 100 block of Bluefish Road for a paddle boarder in distress, to the 100 block of Clover Lane for an abandoned vehicle, to the 8800 block of Mary Ball Road for a lost hiker, responded to the 200 block of Old Fairgrounds Way to assist Kilmarnock Police Department (KPD) with a trespasser, and to the 100 block of Bay Court for a suspicious person.

January 19: Staff responded to the 100 block of Richtown Road to check the welfare of the residents after being alerted by Social Services, and to the 10600 block of Mary Ball Road for an assault.

January 20: Staff responded to the 100 block of Roseneath Avenue to assist KPD with a home invasion, to Regina Road for a reckless driver, to the 200 block of Rocky Neck Road for a trespasser, to Rappahannock and Chesapeake drives to assist Virginia State Police (VSP) with a wanted person, and to the 100 block of Carters Creek Road for suspicious activity.

January 21: Staff responded to the 300 block of Rappahannock Drive to assist Northumberland County Sheriff’s Office with the arrest of a wanted person, to the 8000 block of Courthouse Road to assist emergency medical services with a patient with an altered mental status.

January 22: Staff responded to the 700 block of Rappahannock Drive for debris in the roadway causing a traffic hazard, to the Robert O. Norris Jr. Memorial Bridge for construction materials in the roadway, to the 200 block of Old Fairgrounds Way for disorderly conduct, to the 2200 block of Davis Mill Road for a single-vehicle traffic crash, and to the 30 block of Chesapeake Drive for a possible suicidal person.

January 23: Staff responded to the 200 block of Methodist Church Road for a civil issue, to the 500 block of Nugent Lane for a sudden death, to the 100 block of Bartlett Lane for a reckless driver, and to the 5400 block of Mary Ball Road to assist VSP with a traffic stop.

January 24: Staff responded to Mary Ball and Devils Bottom roads for a two-vehicle traffic crash.

Staff also conducted 20 traffic stops, issued 13 summonses, assisted three motorists, recorded five deer strike accidents, handled a call for traffic control, investigated a building alarm, processed a mental health order, logged an inmate transport, received 20 E911 hang-up calls, and fielded two calls for animal control service.

Fire calls

Upper Lancaster Volunteer Fire Department responded to a vehicle fire on Sweet Gum Road, a brush fire on Callis Road, a traffic crash on Davis Mill Road, and assisted Northumberland with a structure fire on Folly Road.

White Stone VFD responded to a tree on a power line on Fleets Bay Road.

Kilmarnock VFD responded to a fire/smoke alarm on Tartan Village Drive and a traffic crash at Mary Ball and Devils Bottom roads.

Northumberland County Sheriff Johnny Beauchamp this week reported charges against nine individuals.

Felonies

Clifford James Hall, 26, of Callao was charged January 15 with possession of a Schedule I or II drug and being drunk in public.

Brian Chandler Luckham, 33, of Kilmarnock was charged January 15 with strangulation of another and assault and battery of a family member.

James Christopher Felthouse, 34, of Kilmarnock was charged January 18 with maliciously assaulting a family member with severe injuries. He also was charged with obstruction of communication through wireless to prevent help and assault and battery of a family member.

David Troy Ercenlino-Dodson, 24, of Weems was charged January 20 with a capias to show cause issued by the Northumberland County Circuit Court for violation of his terms for probation and violating probation on a felony offense.

Misdemeanors

A Heathsville man, 32. was charged January 12 with a capias/attachment of the body issued by the Northumberland County General District Court for failing to appear in their court.

A Warsaw woman, 21, was charged January 12 with petit larceny.

A Heathsville man, 31, was charged January 14 with a warrant issued by the Lancaster County General District Court for failing to appear on a traffic summons.

A Gloucester man, 30, was charged January 14 with failing to appear in the Northumberland County General District Court for an original charge of driving while suspended.

A Wicomico Church individual, 49, was charged January 21 with threatening an illegal/immoral act over the phone.
