Sheriffs’ Reports 02-17-22

Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie this week reported charges against four individuals.

Felonies

Tawan Martas Rice Sr., 44, of Kilmarnock was charged February 8 with probation violation on a felony offense.

Mark Antonio Waller, 42, of Gwynn Oak, Md., was charged February 11 with distribution of cocaine, a Schedule I/II substance.

Misdemeanors

A Newport News woman, 37, was charged February 9 with contempt of court: failure to appear.

A Kilmarnock man, 56, was charged February 9 with petit larceny.

Activity report

February 7: Staff responded to the 800 block of Clark Point Road to check the welfare of a resident, to the 100 block of Arrowhead Drive for a wanted person, and to a walk-in report of a violation of a protective order.

February 8: Staff responded to the 100 block of Robbins Lane for a possible prowler, to Mary Ball and Pinckardsville roads for  a three-vehicle traffic crash, and to the 300 block of North Main Street to assist Kilmarnock Police Department with a suspicious person.

February 9: Staff responded to Mary Ball Road in the Lancaster area for a reckless driver, to a walk-in report of identity theft and obtaining money under false pretense, to the Robert O. Norris Jr. Memorial Bridge for a reckless driver, to the 4400 block of Jessie duPont Memorial Highway to assist the Northumberland County Sheriff’s Office with the report of shots fired, and to the 100 block of Pine Place for a domestic disturbance involving alcohol.

February 10: Staff responded to the Norris Bridge for a reckless driver, to the 3400 block of Lara Road to assist Emergency Medical Services (EMS), to the 400 block of Wilson Lane for a domestic assault, and to the 500 block of Rappahannock Drive for a two-vehicle traffic crash.

February 11: Staff responded to a walk-in report of threats made to harm another, to the 700 block of Ocran Road to check the welfare of a resident after being alerted by a family member, and to the 11600 block of Courthouse Road to check the welfare of a resident.

February 12: Staff responded to the 800 block of Nuttsville Road for an attempted felonious assault, to the 1900 block of Morattico Road to assist a resident with entry into the locked house, and to Norris Bridge for a reckless driver.

February 13: Staff responded to the 400 block of Rappahannock Drive for a single-vehicle crash into a building.

Staff also conducted six traffic stops, issued four summonses, assisted four motorist, recorded a deer strike accident, handled 11 calls for traffic control, investigated seven building alarms, logged 32 inmate transports, received 19 E911 hang-up calls, and fielded four calls for animal control service.

Fire calls

Kilmarnock and White Stone volunteer fire departments responded to structure fire on Clark Lane and to a fire/smoke alarm on South Main Street,

Kilmarnock VFD also responded to separate structure fire assistance requests on Harmony Hills and Gougher Point Road, a structure fire on Bluff Point Road, the smell of propane on South Main Street and a brush fire on Heron Crest Lane.

White Stone VFD also responded to a traffic rash on Rappahannock Drive.

Northumberland County Sheriff Johnny Beauchamp this week reported charges against nine individuals.

Felonies

Tamra Jean Mears, 60, of Reedville was charged February 4 with malicious wounding.

Tykwan D. Lucas-Croxton, 26, of  Hague man was charged February 7 on a capias issued by the Northumberland County Circuit Court for failing to appear on a felony offense.

Misdemeanors

A Lottsburg woman, 31, was charged January 31 with animal cruelty.

A Lottsburg man, 43, was charged January 31 with animal cruelty.

A Heathsville man, 22, was charged February 1 with assault and battery. He was also charged with brandishing a firearm.

A Farnham man, 46, was charged February 1 with a capias/attachment of the body issued from the Richmond County Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court for failing to appear in their court. He also was charged with a capias/attachment of the body issued from the Northumberland County Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court for failing to provide child support. A capias also was served from the Northumberland County Circuit Court for being in contempt of court/failing to appear.

A Callao man, 60, was charged February 8 with assault and battery.

A Hague man, 26, was charged February 8 on a capias to show cause issued by the Northumberland County Circuit Court to have his bond revoked for failing to comply with his pre-trial conditions by testing positive for cocaine.

A Lottsburg woman, 52, was charged February 14 with driving under the influence of alcohol, first offense, reckless driving and refusal of a breath test.
