Sheriffs’ reports 03-09-23

Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie this week reported charges against five individuals.

Felonies

Ann Carmen Carillo, 39, of Gloucester was charged March 1 with a probation violation on a felony offense.

Thomas Eugene Evans, 33, of Virginia Beach was charged March 1 with failure to appear in court on a felony offense.

William Christopher Ashburn, 52, of Lancaster was charged March 2 with knowingly attempting to intimidate or impede by threats of bodily harm or force a witness lawfully engaged in the discharge of duty relating to a violation of or conspiracy to violate a violent felony offense.

Misdemeanors

A White Stone man, 64, was charged March 2 with trespassing after having been forbidden to do so.

A Weems man, 28, was charged March 3 with failure to appear in court.

Activity report

February 27: Staff responded to the 100 block of The Pony Pasture for a sudden death, to Mary Ball and Regina roads for trespassing, to the 100 block of Sunset Drive to check the welfare of a resident, to a walk-in report of domestic assault in the 1000 block of White Chapel Road, to James B. Jones Memorial Highway to assist Kilmarnock Police Department (KPD )with a reckless driver and a domestic dispute, and to the 1100 block of Shore Drive for a single-vehicle traffic crash.

February 28: Staff responded to the 10400 block of Mary Ball Road for a two-vehicle traffic crash, to the 200 block of Mount Jean to check the welfare of a resident, to the 2100 block of Windmill Point Road to check the welfare of a resident, and to the 1400 block of Weems Road for a domestic assault.

March 1: Staff responded to Mary Ball Road between Lancaster and Lively for a truck losing tree debris in the roadway, and to Cherry Hill Road for numerous gunshots.

March 2: Staff responded to the 100 block of Alphonso Road for damage to property from a vehicle, to the 10400 block of Mary Ball Road for debris in the roadway causing a traffic hazard, to the 300 block of James B. Jones Memorial Highway for several gunshots, to a walk-in report of trespassing that occurred in the 2000 block of Ocran Road, to the 1000 block of Belmont Drive for a wanted person, and to the 500 block of Wilson Lane for a wanted person from King & Queen County.

March 3: Staff responded to the 200 block of Methodist Church Road for a disabled vehicle causing a traffic hazard, to the 100 block of Ship Yard Lane for stolen license plates (UMY-1135), to the 10500 block of Jessie duPont Memorial Highway for a suspicious vehicle, and to the 2000 block of Bluff Point Road to assist Northumberland County Sheriff’s Office (NCSO) with suspicious activity.

March 4: Staff responded to the 600 block of Black Stump Road for threats made to harm another, to the 5400 block of Irvington Road for a child custody dispute, to the 200 block of Old Fairgrounds Way for a theft investigation, to Irvington Road and White Pine Drive to assist Virginia State Police (VSP) with a driving under the influence arrest, to Mary Ball and Goodluck roads for debris in the roadway causing a traffic hazard, to the 100 block of Rose Drive for a domestic disturbance, and to the 200 block of Newtown Road for a domestic disturbance.

March 5: Staff responded to Mary Ball and Harris roads to assist VSP with an arrest, to the 600 block of Rappahannock Drive for a utility pole hit by a vehicle and a power line down, to the 100 block of Irvington Road to assist KPD with suspicious activity and failure to stop for law enforcement, and to the 100 block of Doggett Lane for suspicious activity.

Staff also conducted 45 traffic stops, issued 29 summonses, assisted four motorists, recorded two deer strikes, handled 11 calls for traffic control, investigated four building alarms, logged three inmate transports, received 25 E911 hang up calls, and fielded four calls for animal control service.

Fire call

Upper Lancaster Volunteer Fire Department responded to a traffic crash on Shore Drive.

Northumberland County Sheriff Johnny Beauchamp this week reported charges against four individuals.

Felonies

Dillion Christopher Roberts, 29, of Lancaster was charged February 27 on a direct indictment issued by the Northumberland County Circuit Court for driving while under the influence of alcohol, third in 10 years. He was arrested by the Virginia State Police.

Amir Rasoul, 71, of Heathsville was charged March 1 with forging a title and identification theft. He also was charged with driving on a suspended/revoked license.

Misdemeanors

A Washington, D.C., woman, 83, was charged March 1 with petit larceny and damaging property.

A Farnham man, 47, was charged March 2 on a capias/attachment of the body issued by the Northumberland County Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court for failing to appear in their court. He also was charged on a capias issued by the Northumberland County Circuit Court for contempt of court/failing to appear.
