Sheriffs’ Reports 03-12-26

Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie this week reported charges against nine individuals.

Felonies

Lakia Janel Kelly, 34, of Kilmarnock was charged March 2 with maliciously causing bodily injury by means of acid, lye or caustic substance.

Jason Porter Harsh, 48, of Weems was charged March 4 with revocation of suspension of sentence and probation on the underlying charge of possession of a controlled substance.

Misdemeanors

A Lancaster man, 56, was charged February 28 with assault and battery.

A White Stone woman, 57, was charged March 1 with trespassing.

A Lancaster man, 54, was charged March 5 with failure to appear in court on March 4.

A Weems woman, 42, was charged March 5 with revocation of suspension of sentence and probation on the underlying charge of failure to appear in court on a misdemeanor offense.

A Kilmarnock woman, 44, was charged March 8 with failure to appear in court on March 4.

A Richmond man, 81, was charged March 8 with assault and battery on a family or household member.

A Gloucester woman, 43, was charged March 8 with driving while intoxicated, refusal to submit breath/or blood for chemical test, and destruction of property.

Activity report

March 2: Staff responded to the 8000 block of Mary Ball Road for fraud, to the 8000 block of Mary Ball Road for larceny, to the 8000 block of Mary Ball Road for legal advice, and to Mary Ball Road Long Farm Lane for a disabled vehicle.

March 3: Staff responded to the 100 block of Sandy Lane for a suspicious vehicle, and to the 50 block of Meadowview Lane for a verbal dispute.

March 4: Staff responded to the 4000 block of River Road for fraud, and to the 8000 block of Mary Ball Road for threats.

March 5: Staff responded to the 1100 block of Johns Neck Road for fraud, and to the 100 block of Riverwood Drive for a wanted person.

March 6: Staff responded to the 2000 block of Weems Road for a suspicious person, to the 400 block of Wilson Lane for legal advice, to the 7000 block of Mary Ball Road for a disabled vehicle, to the 2000 block of Windmill Point Road for a disabled vehicle, and to the 8000 block of River Road for a domestic disturbance.

March 7: Staff responded to the Robert O. Norris Jr. Memorial Bridge for a reckless driver, to the 50 block of Bagpipe Lane for the report of a domestic assault, and to Rose Drive for a suspicious vehicle.

March 8: Staff responded to the 700 block of James Wharf Road for destruction of property, to the 18000 block of Mary Ball Road for a single-vehicle traffic crash, and to the 6000 block of River Road for threats.

Staff also conducted 18 traffic stops, issued 14 summonses, assisted a motorist, recorded two deer strike accidents, handled a request for traffic control, investigated three building alarms, processed a mental health order, logged two inmate transports, received seven E911 hang up calls, and fielded five calls for animal control service.

Fire calls

Kilmarnock Volunteer Fire Department responded to a fire alarm at 65 East Church Street.

White Stone VFD responded to a brush fire at Chases Road and Elm Street, and a traffic crash at 18636 Mary Ball Road.

Northumberland County Sheriff Johnny Beauchamp this week reported charges against 16 individuals.

Felonies

Yasmeen Frazier, no age given, on February 18 was served a capias issued by the Northumberland County Circuit Court for one count of forgery/uttering and one count of obtaining money by false pretenses.

Kendall Channin Anderson, 24, of Lancaster was charged February 24 on a direct indictment issued by the Northumberland County Circuit Court Multi-Jurisdictional Grand Jury with four counts of selling/distributing a controlled substance, namely a Schedule I/II drug.

John James Makowelski, 51, of Champlain was charged February 27 with a capias issued by the Northumberland County Circuit Court on original charges of unauthorized use of a vehicle and destruction of property more$1000.. He was served by the Tappahannock Police Department.

Richard Garland Gallagher Jr., 48, of Reedville was charged March 5 on a capias to show cause for violating probation on original charges of possession of a Schedule I/II drug.

Sheila Parker Henderson, 60, of Burgess was charged March 5 on a capias for the original charge of obtaining money by false pretenses.

Misdemeanors

A Heathsville woman, 23, was charged February 17 with a capias/attachment of the body issued by the Lancaster County General District Court for having failed multiple interlock violations per Virginia Alcohol Safety Action Program. She was served by the Northumberland County Sheriff’s Office (NCSO).

A Heathsville woman, no age given, was charged February 19 on a summons for criminal trespassing.

A Heathsville man, 27, was charged February 19 with criminal trespassing.

An Aylett man, 25, was charged February 19 with assault and battery of a family member. He also was charged with damaging property and obstructing communications through wireless devices. These were Northumberland County warrants served by the King William County Sheriff’s Office.

A Reedville man, 51, was charged February 25 with three misdemeanor warrants for violating a protective order.

A Burgess woman, no age given, was charged February 25 with depredation of a dog.

A Reedville woman, 25, was charged February 25 with damaging property.

A Callao woman, 59, was charged March 2 with two counts of criminal trespassing and interfering with another’s property rights. She also was charged with peeping or spying in the dwelling of another and property damage. These were Westmoreland County warrants served by NCSO.

A Lottsburg man, 45, was charged March 3 with contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

A Callao woman, 59, was charged March 4 on a capias/attachment of the body issued by the Northumberland County General District Court for violating the conditions of her pre-trial.

A Heathsville man, 70, was charged March 5 with criminal trespassing.

Reminder, those charged with alleged crimes are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
