Sheriffs’ Reports 04-10-25

Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie this week reported charges against four individuals.

Felony

Stephanie Mackey Surber, 55, of 75 Myway Lane, White Stone, was charged April 4 with maliciously causing bodily injury with the intent to maim, disfigure or disable, and assault and battery of a family or household member (misdemeanor).

Misdemeanors

A Weems man, 34, was charged April 4 with driving after forfeiture of license.

A White Stone man, 21, was charged April 6 with entering property of another for the purpose of damaging it or the contents thereof, or for the purpose of interfering the rights of the owner, user or occupant thereof to use such property free from interference; and petit larceny.

A Lancaster man, 33, was charged April 6 with revocation of suspension of sentence and probation.

Activity Report

March 31: Staff responded to the 100 block of School Street for breaking and entering, to Courthouse Road for a disabled vehicle, to the Robert O. Norris Jr. Memorial Bridge for a two-vehicle traffic crash, to the 500 block of Chesapeake Drive for a civil complaint, to Bewdley and River roads for debris in the highway, to Mary Ball and Kamps Mill roads for a single-vehicle traffic crash, to the 400 block of Lumberlost Road for an adult welfare check, to the 8000 block of Mary Ball Road for a civil complaint, and to Mary Ball and Long Lane Farm roads for a single-vehicle traffic crash.

April 1: Staff responded to the 300 block of Holgate Way for legal advice, to the 800 block of Senora Road for an adult welfare check, to Mary Ball Road and Rivers Landing Terrace for a two-vehicle traffic crash, to Queenstown Road and Smith Lane for a fight in progress, to the 1400 block of Pinckardsville Road for a larceny, and to the 400 block of Greentown Road for suspicious activity.

April 2: Staff responded to the 9 block of Jones Drive for credit card fraud, to the 200 block of Buzzards Neck Road for a verbal dispute, and to the 100 block of Sandy Lane for gunshots in the late evening hours.

April 3: Staff responded to the 20 block of Fish Hawk Drive for an adult welfare check, to the 200 block of Kelley Neck Road for a downed tree, and to the 50 block of Whites Lane for a breaking and entering.

April 4: Staff responded to the 90 block of Mosquito Point Road for suspicious activity, to the Norris Bridge for debris in the highway, to the 2000 block of Windmill Point Road for suspicious activity, to the 70 block of Myway Lane for a domestic assault, and to the 7000 block of River Road for a fight in progress.

April 5: Staff responded to the 300 block of Shore Drive for a single-vehicle traffic crash, and to the 100 block of Fox Den Road for an adult welfare check.

April 6: No calls reported.

Staff also conducted 61 traffic stops, issued 61 summonses, assisted three motorists, recorded a deer strike accident, handled a request for traffic control, investigated 14 building alarms, logged two inmate transports, and received six E911 hang up calls.

Fire calls

Kilmarnock Volunteer Fire Department responded to a traffic crash at Mary Ball and Kamps Mill roads.

White Stone VFD responded to a traffic crash at Mary Ball and Rivers Landing roads.

Upper Lancaster VFD responded to a brush fire at 1932 River Road and a grill fire at 7812 River Road.

Northumberland County Sheriff Johnny Beauchamp this week reported charges against 15 individuals.

Felonies

William Edward Headley, 26, of Heathsville on February 21 was charged with forgery of a bank note. He was also was charged on a summons for forgery of a bank note.

Nicholas Lamont Turner, 31, of Heathsville was charged March 24 on a direct indictment issued by the Northumberland Multi-jurisdictional Grand Jury with rape, abduction and sodomy. He was also charged with 11 violations of a protective order, two charges of possession of a firearm by a non-violent felon, one charge of a firearm in commission of a felony, and two more charges of a firearm in commission of a felony, first and second offense. He was charged with extortion and receiving stolen or concealing a firearm. He also was charged with obstruction or resisting without threats or force.

Steven Morris Davis, 33, of Heathsville was charged March 24 with two felony counts of assault and battery of a police officer. He also was charged with three counts of obstruction of justice.

Terry Lamont Parker Jr., 30, of Callao was charged March 25 with burglary at night at the Village Handy Store. He also was charged with damaging property and petit larceny.

Jonathan Tyler Mitchell, 41, of  Heathsville was charged on a direct indictment issued out of Middlesex County on an original charge of grand larceny.

Joshua Morris, 45, of Warsaw was charged April 4 with breaking and entering a residence during the daytime. He also was charged with trespassing and damaging properties.

Keenan L. Samuel, 33, of Lancaster was charged April 6 on a capias to show cause issued by the Northumberland County Circuit Court for a probation violation.

Markell Anthony Scott, 20, of Heathsville was charged April 7 with strangulation.

Misdemeanors

A Tappahannock man, 58, was charged March 20 with assault and battery of a family member. He was served by the Essex County Sheriff’s Office.

A Reedville woman, 32, was charged March 29 with assault and battery.

A Reedville woman, 26, was charged March 30 with damaging property.

A Virginia Beach woman, 48, was charged April 1 with assault and battery of a family member.

A Yorktown man, 37, was charged April 1 with disorderly conduct.

A Colonial Beach man, 58, was charged April 4 with a capias to show cause issued by the Westmoreland County Circuit Court for violation of his pre-trial conditions. He was served by the Northumberland County Sheriff’s Office.

A Heathsville man, 41, was charged April 4 with damaging property.
