Sheriffs’ Reports 04-22-21

Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie this week reported charges against five individuals.

Felonies

Rodney Eli Wiggins Jr., 22, of Lancaster was charged April 13 with escaping custody, without force, of a law enforcement officer on a felony charge.

Cintez Carneal Gibson, 34, of Lancaster was charged April 17 with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of a sawed-off shotgun.

Misdemeanors

A Weems man, 29, was charged April 13 with failure to appear in court on a misdemeanor offense.

A Lancaster man was charged April 15 with probation violations on two felony offenses.

A Lancaster man, 23, was charged April 16 with attempting to defeat a drug or alcohol screening by substitution of a sample.

Activity report

April 12: Staff responded to a walk-in report of a stolen Venture boat trailer from the 1600 block of James Wharf Road, to the Robert O. Norris Jr. Memorial Bridge debris in the roadway causing a traffic hazard, to the 400 block of Old Orchard Road for suspicious activity, and to the 21100 block of Mary Ball Road for a downed tree blocking the eastbound lane.

April 13: Staff responded to the 300 block of Gaskins Road for a domestic disturbance, to the 3800 block of Mary Ball Road for juvenile behavior issues, and to Wiggins Avenue for gunshots in the evening hours.

April 14: Staff responded to a walk-in report of an assault in the 3000 block of White Chapel Road, to the 100 block of Harris Road for a person with mental issues, and to the 100 block of Third Avenue to assist the Kilmarnock Police Department (KPD) with a domestic disturbance.

April 15: Staff responded to the 100 block of Wesley Terrace for a domestic disturbance, to the 2200 block of Weems Road for a minor two-vehicle traffic crash, and to the 100 block of Wesley Terrace to check the welfare of two juveniles after being alerted by Social Services.

April 16: Staff responded to the 100 block of Washington Street for gunshots in the early morning hours, to the 9500 block of Mary Ball Road for a reckless driver, to the 1000 block of Old Salem Road for debris in the roadway causing a traffic hazard, to the 1400 block of Shore Drive for a domestic disturbance, to the 100 block of Wiggins Avenue to assist KPD with a domestic disturbance, and to Little Bay and Scott roads for a single-vehicle traffic crash.

April 17: Staff responded to Pinckardsville and Mary Ball roads for a vehicle blocking a lane of traffic.

April 18: Staff responded to the 300 block of East Bay Drive for suspicious activity, to the 400 block of North Main Street to assist KPD with a disorderly person, to the 300 block of Old Orchard Road for trespassing, to the 800 block of Nuttsville Road for juvenile behavior issues, to the 200 block of Campbell Road for a noise violation from loud music, to the 200 block of Cow Shed Road for the reported theft of mail, to the 100 block of Gaskins Road for a domestic disturbance involving alcohol and weapons, and to the 100 block of Smith Lane for a possible prowler.

Staff also conducted 41 traffic stops, issued 34 summonses, assisted three motorists, handled eight calls for traffic control, investigated a building alarm, processed a mental health order, logged four inmate transports, received 31 E911 hang-up calls and field two requests for animal control service.

Fire calls

The Kilmarnock, Upper Lancaster and White Stone volunteer fire departments responded to separate structure fires on Irvington Road and on Laurel Point Road.

White Stone VFD also responded to a traffic crash at Little Bay and Scott roads.

Northumberland County Sheriff Johnny Beauchamp this week reported misdemeanor charges against seven individuals.

A Warsaw man, 24, was charged April 9 with a capias/attachment of the body issued by the Northumberland County General District Court for failing to appear. He was served by the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office.

A Heathsville Woman, 36, was charged April 12 with assault and battery of a family member.

A Lottsburg man, 55, was charged April 12 with indecent exposure.

A Heathsville woman, 52, was charged April 13 with a capias to show cause for failing to comply with pre-trial conditions by failing several drug screenings.

A Heathsville woman, 30, was charged April 13 with possession of a Schedule III drug. She also was charged with animal abandonment, driving with an altered license plate, operating an un-inspected vehicle, expired registration and operating an uninsured vehicle.

A Heathsville woman, 41, was charged April 14 with assault and battery.

A Heathsville man, 55, was charged April 15 with four misdemeanor counts of practicing a profession/occupation without a license.
