Sheriffs’ Reports 04-23-20

Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie this week reported misdemeanor charges against two individuals.

A Lancaster man, 22, was charged April 13 with entering a property to cause damage, four counts of trespassing after being ordered not to do so, and trespassing after being warned by a posted sign.

A Lancaster woman, 34, was charged April 14 with violating conditions of pretrial release.

Activity report

April 13: Staff responded to the 100 block of Harris Road for a trespasser, to the 600 block of Benson Road for threats made to harm others and mental issues, to the intersection of Mary Ball and Kamps Mill roads for an abandoned vehicle, and to the 19200 block of Mary Ball Road for trespassers.

April 14: Staff responded to the 6000 block of Windmill Point Road for threats made to harm another, to the 2900 block of Merry Point Road for a fight in progress, and to Greentown Road for the report of numerous gunshots.

April 15: No reports were received that required a response.

April 16: Staff responded to the Lancaster area of Mary Ball Road for a reckless driver, to Greentown Road for shots discharged toward a vehicle, to the 6000 block of Mary Ball Road for a reckless driver, to the 500 block of Lara Road for larceny of a canine, and to the 300 block of Greentown Road for a domestic disturbance.

April 17: Staff responded to the 8400 block of River Road to check the welfare of a resident after being alerted by a family member, to the 100 block of Lively Oaks Road for gunshots, to the 800 block of Rappahannock Drive for larceny of fuel, to the 900 block of Rappahannock Drive for an abandoned vehicle, and to the 7800 block of River Road for a domestic disturbance.

April 18: Staff responded to the 6000 block of Mary Ball Road for an abandoned vehicle, to the 300 block of Devils Bottom Road for a domestic disturbance, and to the 800 block of Rappahannock Drive for a suspicious person.

April 19: Staff responded to the 100 block of York Road for a noise violation from loud music, to Brent Court for a domestic disturbance, to the 300 block of Buzzards Neck Road for threats made to harm another, and to the 200 block of Nuttsville Road for a domestic assault with injuries.

Staff also conducted three traffic stops, issued a summons, handled a call for traffic control, investigated five building alarms, processed a mental health order, logged two inmate transports, received 16 E911 hang-up calls, and handled three calls for animal control service.

Fire calls

Upper Lancaster Volunteer Fire Department responded to a fire/smoke alarm on Western Branch Road.

White Stone VFD responded to a vehicle fire on Clubhouse Road and woods fire at Ocran and Scott roads.

Kilmarnock VFD responded to a trash fire on North Main Street.

EMS calls

For April 12-18 the Kilmarnock-Lancaster Volunteer Rescue Squad, Upper Lancaster Volunteer Rescue Squad and Lancaster County Emergency Services responded to 23 calls, including 16 medical emergencies, an injury, a traffic accident, a fire and four other calls.

Northumberland County Sheriff Johnny Beauchamp this week reported charges against eight individuals.

Felony

Ricky Warren Brown, 52, of Callao was charged April 16 with abduction and assault and battery of a family member, third-plus offense.

Keetan W. Uppard, 40, of Dutton was charged April 16 with embezzlement, third-plus offense. This was a Northumberland County warrant, served by the Matthews County Sheriffs Office.

Keenan L. Samuel, 28, of Newport News was charged April 19 with driving under the influence of alcohol, third offense in five years. He also was charged with driving on a restricted license (alcohol related), reckless driving and driving with an open container.

Misdemeanors

A Heathsville man, 39, was charged April 10 with three summonses for dogs chasing/killing poultry.

A Heathsville woman, 39, was charged April 15 with four summonses for failing to pay for a license for her animals. She also was charged with two summonses for failing to vaccinate.

A Tappahannock man, 48, was charged April 15 with assault and battery of a family member. This was an Essex County warrant, served by the Northumberland County Sheriffs Office.

A Lottsburg woman, 34, was charged April 15 with assault and battery of a family member.

A Heathsville woman, 63, was charged April 17 with four summonses for failing to obtain dog licenses.
