Sheriffs’ Reports 04-25-24

Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie this week reported charges against four individuals.

Felonies

Christian Paul Lyons, 40, of White Stone was charged April 16 with revocation of suspension of sentence and probation for failing to remain of peace and good behavior on the underlying charge of driving under the influence, third or subsequent offense, Isle of Wight County warrant.

Larry Warner Hearn Jr., 35, of Weems was charged April 21 with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and failure to appear in the Mathews County Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court on April 3.

Misdemeanors

A Lancaster man, 62, was charged April 16 with petit larceny, Middlesex County warrant.

A Lancaster woman, 33, was charged April 19 with revocation of suspension of sentence and probation for failing to remain of peace and good behavior on the underlying charge of assault and battery.

Activity report

April 15: Staff responded to the 1200 block of Crawfords Corner Road for a scam, to the 900 block of Ocran Road for verbal threats, to the 8000 block of Courthouse Road for suspicious activity, and to Western Branch and River Roads for a disabled vehicle.

April 16: Staff responded to the 11000 block of Mary Ball Road for a disabled vehicle, to the 2000 block of Weems Road for a civil complaint, to the 3000 block of Irvington Road for gunshots in the early afternoon hours, to the 3000 block of Weems Road for an adult welfare check, and to the 10 block of Norwood Street for a domestic disturbance.

April 17: Staff responded to the 70 block of Washington Street for an assault, to the 8000 block of Mary Ball Road for a juvenile complaint, to the 200 block of Methodist Church Road for legal advice, and to the 1300 block of Ocran Road for a juvenile complaint.

April 18: Staff responded to the 9000 block of Mary Ball Road for a traffic complaint, to the Robert O. Norris Jr. Memorial Bridge for a two-vehicle traffic crash, to the 13000 block of Mary Ball Road for a civil complaint, to the 8000 block of River Road for a verbal dispute, to the 10000 block of River Road for destruction of property, to the 500 block of Rappahannock Drive for breaking and entering and larceny, to the 100 block of Peirces Road for a child welfare check, and to the 1000 block of Beans Road for an adult welfare check.

April 19: Staff responded to the 10 block of Brent Court for a verbal disagreement, to the 4000 block of Irvington Road for a two-vehicle traffic crash, to the 1800 block of Irvington Road for an adult welfare check, to the 8000 block of Mary Ball Road for fraud, to Weems and Christ Church roads for disorderly conduct and assault, to the 300 block of Meyers Creek Drive for trespassing, to the Norris Bridge for a reckless driver, and to the 1 block of Longview Drive for a verbal disagreement.

April 20: Staff responded to the 80 block of Edgewood Lane for a civil complaint, and to the 200 block of Nuttsville Road for destruction of property.

April 21: Staff responded to the 10000 block of Mary Ball Road for trespassing, to the 100 block of Rappahannock Drive for a disabled vehicle, to the 100 block of Tabernacle Lane for a suspicious person, to the 200 block of Churchill Circle for a suspicious vehicle, to the 500 block of Gaskins Road for theft of a motor vehicle.

April 22: Staff responded to the 500 block of Devils Bottom Road for a disruptive juvenile.

Staff also conducted 17 traffic stops, issued 19 summonses, handled a call for traffic control, investigated four building alarms, processed a mental health order, logged two inmate transports, received four E911 hang up calls and fielded a call for animal control service.

Fire calls

Upper Lancaster Volunteer Fire Department responded to a lawn mower fire at 1430 Merry Point Road, and to a fire alarm at 974 Teague Road.

Kilmarnock VFD responded to a brush fire at 458 Harris Road, and to an electrical fire at 17 Dixie Avenue.

Northumberland County Sheriff Johnny Beauchamp this week reported misdemeanor charges against four individuals.

A Heathsville man, 54, was charged April 16 with three counts of animal cruelty.

A Hayes woman, 60, was charged April 17 with using obscene language over the phone. This was a Northumberland County warrant served by the Gloucester County Sheriff’s Office.

A Reedville man, 35, was charged April 19 on a capias to show cause issued by the Northumberland County Circuit Court for having a case deferred, but shall now show cause why he should not be found guilty and sentenced.

A Reedville woman, 50, was charged April 19 with assault and battery.
