Sheriffs’ Reports 05-04-23

Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie this week reported charges against nine individuals.

Felonies

Justin Wayne Wilmouth, 26, of Farnham was charged April 25 with knowingly communicating in writing a threat to kill or do bodily harm which placed such person in reasonable apprehension of death or bodily injury. Wilmouth charged again on April 27 with two counts of entering in the nighttime a dwelling house or adjoining outhouse with the intent to commit larceny or a felony other than murder, rape, robbery or arson, two counts of committing larceny of property with a value of $1,000 or more with intent to distribute such property, and stealing property valued at less than $1,000.

Markeese O’Neal Broughton, 33, of Lancaster was charged April 25 with probation violation on a felony offense.

Thai Haskins, 18, of White Stone was charged April 27 with making and communicating a threat to bomb, burn, destroy or damage a place of assembly, building or other structure and without just cause, knowingly obstruct a law enforcement officer in the performance of their duties as such, or fail or refuse to cease such obstruction without just cause when requested to do so.

Deondre Tavon Lampkin, 29, of Heathsville was charged April 28 with entering a structure to commit assault and battery, larceny, etc. and grand larceny-stealing goods/currency valued at more than $1,000.

Daryl Collin Mitchell, 35, of Lancaster was charged April 28 with malicious bodily injury to law-enforcement officers, firefighters, search and rescue personnel, or emergency medical services; bodily injuries caused by prisoners whether local or state on an employee; and assaulting a law enforcement/DOC officer.

Brian Lee Brooks, 39, of White Stone was charged April 28 with assault and battery of a family member, third offense.

Misdemeanors

A Waterview woman, 20, was charged April 24 with assault and battery.

A Lancaster woman, 18, was charged April 24 with assault and battery.

A Hague man, 59, was charged April 26 with revocation of pretrial release-misdemeanor.

Activity Report

April 24: Staff responded to Mary Ball Road in White Stone for a person on a scooter traveling on the wrong side of the roadway, to construction fraud that occurred at the 100 block of Johns Creek Road, to the 400 block of South Main Street to assist Kilmarnock Police Department (KPD) with a truck striking and downing utility lines, to the Robert O. Norris Jr. Memorial Bridge for an aluminum ladder in the roadway causing a traffic hazard, to the 100 block of Gordon Drive for trespassing, to the 1300 block of Irvington Road for a three-vehicle traffic crash, to the 400 block of Buzzards Neck Road for a wanted person, and to High Bank Road for a loud explosion and fire.

April 25: Staff responded to the 100 block of Yorkshire Street for juvenile behavior issues, to Chinns Mill on Mary Ball Road for a reckless driver, to the 1300 block of Irvington Road for a wanted person, and to the 700 block of Newtown Road for a verbal dispute.

April 26: Staff responded to the 8700 block of River Road for a burglary in progress, to the 8300 block of Mary Ball Road for a possible disorderly person, to a larceny of a FedEx delivered package that occurred at the 200 block of Longview Drive, to the 100 block of School Street to assist KPD with a person with an altered mental status, to the 2300 block of River Road for a domestic disturbance, and to the 100 block of Irvington Road to assist KPD with suspicious activity.

April 27: Staff responded to Courthouse Road to check the welfare of an elderly pedestrian that appeared to be in distress, to the 4300 block of Irvington Road for the theft of lawn ornaments, and to the 500 block of Devils Bottom Road for a sudden death.

April 28: Staff responded to Lara and White Chapel roads for a downed tree in the roadway, to the 100 block of Bunkhouse Lane for threats made to harm another, to James B. Jones Memorial Highway and Radio Road to assist KPD with a reckless driver, to the 100 block of William B. Graham Court to assist KPD with a suspicious person, to the 100 block of Fleets Lane for a person with an altered mental status, to the 100 block of Mercers Way for gunshots in the area, to the 1000 block of Belmont Drive for theft of U.S. currency, to the 10300 block of River Road to check the welfare of a resident, and to the 6000 block of Mary Ball Road for the report of suspicious activity.

April 29: Staff responded to Mary Ball Road in Lively for a reckless driver; to the 100 block of First Street for an assault with injuries, to Mary Ball and Goodluck Roads for a female pedestrian in the late evening hours.

April 30: Staff responded to the 700 block of Regina Road for a domestic assault, to the 100 block of Weems Road for a single-vehicle traffic crash with serious injuries, to the 100 block of Wayne Circle for vandalism of a structure, to Weems Road for a tree limb in the roadway, to the 300 block of Jeffrey Avenue to check the welfare of a resident, to the 100 block of Shamrock Court to assist KPD with a suspicious person, to the 3200 block of Crawfords Corner Road for a domestic disturbance, to the 500 block of North Main Street for a single-vehicle traffic crash, and to the 300 block of White Hall Road for threats to commit suicide and to harm law enforcement if they respond.

Staff also conducted 14 traffic stops, issued six summonses, assisted four motorists, recorded two deer strike accidents, handled 12 calls for traffic control, investigated a building alarm, processed a mental health order, logged two inmate transports, received 29 E911 hang up calls, and fielded four calls for animal control service.

Fire calls

Kilmarnock Volunteer Fire Department responded to separate traffic crashes on Irvington Road and North Main Street, with White Stone VFD April 24 to a substation explosion-fire and again on April 25 to a substation fire on High Bank Road, and with White Stone VFD to a possible structure fire on Taylors Creek Road.

White Stone VFD also responded to a traffic crash on Weems Road.

Upper Lancaster VFD responded to a lift assistance request on Belmont Drive, and with Kilmarnock VFD to assist Richmond County with a brush fire on Historyland Highway.

Northumberland County Sheriff Johnny Beauchamp this week reported charges against 17 individuals.

Felonies

Misty Lynn Stokes, 37, of Heathsville was served April 11 with a capias to show cause issued by Northumberland County Circuit Court for probation violations by not reporting to probation and parole and failing to report to probation and parole for random drug tests. She was served by the Richmond County Sheriffs Office.

Tyrese D. Samuel, no age given, of Mitchells was served April 21 with a capias to show cause issued by Northumberland County Circuit Court for having his suspended sentence revoked. He was served by the Virginia State Police.

Kai Robert Renton, 24, of Northumberland County was charged April 23 with failing to perform construction after receiving the funds. He also was charged with obtaining monies by false pretenses.These were Northumberland County charges served by the Henrico County Police Department (HCPD).

Amanda Newsome Renton, no age given, of Heathsville was charged April 23 by direct indictment issued by a Northumberland County Multi-Jurisdictional Grand Jury for two counts of possession with intent to sell or distribute. She was served by HCPD.

Misdemeanors

A Lottsburg man, 23, was charged April 9 with a misdemeanor warrant for hit and run and driving without a license.

A Callao man, 32, was served April 10 with a capias to show cause issued by Northumberland County Circuit Court for a probation violation.

A Callao man, 60, was charged April 13 with assault and battery of a family member.

A Heathsville woman, 36, was charged April 17 with petit larceny, criminal trespassing and damaging property.

A White Stone man, 25, was served April 17 with a capias/attachment of the body issued by Northumberland County General Court for failing to comply with substance abuse treatment.

A Lottsburg man, 40, was charged April 18 with damaging property.

A West Point woman, 41, was charged April 22 with defrauding a motel/restaurant. This was a Northumberland County warrant served by the West Point Police Department.

A Heathsville man, 24, was served April 23 with a capias/attachment of the body issued by Northumberland County General District Court for failing to appear. He was served by HCPD.

A Hague man, 34, was served April 24 with a capias/attachment of the body issued by the Williamsburg-James City General District Court for failing to pay the balance of court costs/fines.

A Yorktown man, 24, was served April 25 with a capias to show cause issued by Northumberland County Circuit Court to show cause why his suspended sentence should not be revoked.

A Heathsville man, 71, was charged April 25 with animal cruelty/torture.

A Heathsville man, 39, was charged April 25 with being drunk in public.

A Reedville woman, 36, was charged April 25 with three counts of shoplifting from Lilian Lumber Company.
