Sheriffs’ Reports 05-20-20

Spoofed
The Northumberland County Sheriffs Office (NCSO) recently reported the NCSO phone number has been “spoofed” and the community is being called and being told that they have outstanding warrants, but can be taken care of if a payment is made.

Be aware the NCSO will never contact anyone about paying or demanding any kind of money over the phone. Those who receive any of these calls, should contact the NCSO immediately.

Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie this week reported misdemeanor charges against six individuals.

A White Stone man, 33, was charged May 11 with two violations of damaging property valued at less than $1,000.

A Washington, D.C. woman, 22, was charged May 13 with damage to property valued at less than $1,000, and failure to report property damage from a traffic crash.

A White Stone woman, 36, was charged May 13 with assault and battery of a family member.

A White Stone man, 20, was charged May 13 with assault.

A Kilmarnock man, 42, was charged May 15 with probation violation on a misdemeanor offense and possession of marijuana, second offense.

A White Stone man, 22, was charged May 16 with driving while under the influence of alcohol.

Activity report

May 11: Staff responded to the 200 block of Dawson Lane for the report of gunshots, to the 3900 block of Black Stump Road for vandalism to a field, to the 1400 block of West Point Road for larceny of cut trees; to the 200 block of Enon Hall Road for obtaining money by false pretenses, and to Crawfords Corner and Regina roads for a two-vehicle traffic crash.

May 12: Staff responded to the 100 block of Campbell Road for a trespasser, to the 300 block of White Hall Road for a noise violation coming from loud music, and to East Church Street for a possible intoxicated driver.

May 13: Staff responded to Jessie duPont Memorial Highway and Goodluck Road for a single-vehicle traffic crash versus a tree, to Old Salem Road and Lancaster Drive for a two-vehicle traffic crash, and to the 200 block of Irvington Road for a suspicious person.

May 14: Staff responded to Ocran Road for juvenile behavior issues.

May 15: Staff responded to the 200 block of Lancaster Creek Drive for a burglary and larceny of three firearms, to the 4600 block of Windmill Point for reckless drivers on motorcycles, to the 1300 block of Rocky Neck Road for reckless use of a firearm, to the 1000 block of Chesapeake Drive for a large crowd that was shooting fireworks and not social distancing, to the 200 block of Norwood Church Road for suspicious activity at an abandoned house.

May 16: Staff responded to Mary Ball and Harris roads for a reckless driver, to the 100 block of Georgetown Lane for vandalism to yard furniture from a vehicle, to the 11500 block of Mary Ball Road for reckless use of a firearm, to the 100 block of White Hall Road for a large crowd involved in a fight in progress, to the Ocran and Holly Cove roads for a single-vehicle traffic crash.

May 17: Staff responded to the 700 block of Lancaster Creek Drive for a noise violation from loud music, to the 1100 block of Chestnut Grove Lane for vandalism of an automobile, to Irvington and Glebe roads for gunshots.

Staff also conducted seven traffic stops, issued three summonses, assisted two motorists, handled three calls for traffic control, investigated four building alarms, received 12 E911 hang-up calls, and fielded three calls for animal control service.

Fire calls

The Kilmarnock Volunteer Fire Department responded to a traffic crash at Goodluck Road and Jessie duPont Memorial Highway, a request to assist law enforcement on Mary Ball Road, and with Upper Lancaster VFD to a structure fire on Buzzards Neck Road.

The White Stone VFD responded to a traffic crash on Old Salem Road.

EMS calls

For May 10-16, the Kilmarnock-Lancaster Volunteer Rescue Squad, Upper Lancaster Volunteer Rescue Squad and Lancaster County Emergency Services responded to 25 calls, including 15 medical emergencies, three injuries, a traffic accident, a fire call and five other calls.

Northumberland County Sheriff Johnny Beauchamp this week reported charges against 12 individuals.

Felonies

Keenan L. Samuel, 29, of Newport News was charged May 14 with driving revoked/without a license, second-plus offense.

Tamra Jean Mears, 58, of Reedville was charged May 16 with a felony warrant for breaking and entering and a misdemeanor warrant for interfering with the property rights of another.

Kai Robert Renton, 30, of Heathsville was charged May 15 with a capias to show cause, issued from the Henrico County Circuit Court for failing to abide by conditions of his bond with the original charge being possession of a controlled substance.

Tyrone N. Samuel Jr., 22, of Richmond was charged May 17 with unlawful bodily injury, intentional damage to personal property, assault and battery and reckless handling of a firearm.

Misdemeanors

A Burgess man, 18, was charged May 13 with reckless driving.

A Callao man, 28, was charged May 14 with two summons for failing to provide adequate shelter for his animals, and one summons each for failing to provide adequate space and failing to provide a clean shelter.

A Callao woman, 28, was charged May 14 with two summonses for failing to provide adequate shelter for her animals, and one summons each for failing to provide adequate space and failing to provide a clean shelter.

A Delaware man, 34, was charged May 14 with driving under the influence of alcohol and reckless driving.

A Callao man, 31, was charged May 16 with driving under the influence of alcohol and a summons was issued for the driver’s brake lights being inoperable.

A Lancaster County man, 41, was charged May 16 with driving under the influence of alcohol and reckless driving.

A Lottsburg man, 38, was charged May 17 with driving on a revoked/suspended license, intentional damage to a cell phone and assault and battery of a family member.

A Heathsville man, 30, was charged May 17 with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving on a revoked license and reckless driving.
